Dear All:
And it is very welcome, as far I am concerned. Well, if the Wagon would be done (considered as the first Steel Wagon by some) I truly will be happy. Someone I knew had it at streets of Athens when I was a kid; Green Color.

Getting off subject, but could this 1949 Checker be considered the first steel wagon? Checker made all their own steel body stampings and had stopped using wood in bodies by about 1935

From several sources, it appears that 1949 was the first year many automotive companies produced the 'all-steel' wagons. Buick appears to have been the last builder of a wooden structured wagon (at least in the USA).

Dear All:
The dispute on the subject that I know is between Plymouth and Jeep. Some state that Jeep put out the first Steel Wagon, some state it was Plymouth because the Jeep is a truck. I never heard of the Checker Wagons (before the Station Wagon and Aerobus) were these for the Civilian or Commercial Markets?

Checker made it's official entry into the consumer market on Feb 7, 1960. However, Checker was actively selling in the consumer market since the early 1930's.
My 1957 Checker was a private sell. A lot of private sales were made in Europe, particularly Finland in th early post war period.

Does Anybody Have News About Classic Metal Works, Either Good Or Sad ?
Several Sellers On Ebay Are Listing Them As No Longer Available. At First I Thought They Were Refering To Specific Models And Not The Whole Line.
I Have Been Unable To Access Their Web Site For The Last 4 Days. A Window Opens Stating That The Web Page Cannot Be Accessed, Because Of Technical Problems.

Thanks for the lead! Remarkably thin window pillars for a CMW model, but is it the real product?

BHoH has both HO and N scale CMW in stock. I will ask Glen next time I go over. If that bus is the real model, then they have a winner.

yes, it looks like a real winner ; perhaps the long wait and constant revisions and delays will prove beneficial in giving us a great model. Period model railroaders will love this one to death. I'll add a few to my "bus" collection even though they are too old for the dioramas I am considering. Swamp Daddy

Dear All:
Loved that, too. It will be around at my Minaiture bus depot (is a Cabinet drawer full of Model Buses, really).
