Hey Guys: For those of you that don't read model railroad news or don't get it and for our overseas members great news. Bill C states in his column that in 2008 that not only will Models11 produce civilian R/T Chargers they are also going to make state police Chargers as well for the states that have them. ;D, so it looks like we will all be a lot lighter in our wallets in 2008.Especially Vito and I, I can't wait, also Bill states that rumor has it that one of the major manufacturers is negotiating w/ GM on which models can be done in 1/87. FINALLY

FINALLY Dear All: Hence the thread which scale close to HO is acceptable. Interesting. Now, it will be interesting if GM gives the green light, an Impala 2000 miniature to be developed.

Yes, Brian, I might buy a few Illinois State Police Chargers! And a few generic police car schemes would be nice too.
I think Nick is right on, the new 2007 or 2008 Chevy Impala is a good possibility right now, especially because of the possibilities with police cars and taxis. It's hard to believe that it has been 12 years since Busch released their excellent Chevy Caprice. It would be nice to see a quality, brand new Chevy Impala in HO simply because it's in the top ten in sales in the US, the only American car to be in there I believe. Hey, I'll take the 2000 Impala too!

Um, Models11 is only producing the Charger. If the thread is going to be about Models11, let's stick to them. You are also going to see some other special runs from Models11 in the near future so you might want to check their website www.models11.com now and then for the announcements.

Yeah, you're right Bill, I got a little carried away. Let's hope the Charger is as nice as the Ricko version. I called Al a few weeks ago and told him it would be nice to have an updated website in accordance with a big announcement, especially involving a new model in HO.

I am sure it will be great news for you guys, But for me..... This GM-story would be great if they will produce some mid 60Th Buicks, Oldsmobiles and Pontiacs!

Models11 is getting close to a pre-production shot of the new Charger as the website is updated now. Pricing and colors are included for this new car.
Is it possible for Models11 to make a taxi version of the Charger? I have never seen a real taxi version on the streets but it is possible I suppose. I'm just trying to maximize the tooling costs with the Charger and, it would be great to have more modern American taxis in HO. If it wasn't for Busch they would be practically non-existent. Man, do I miss Busch!

Dear All:
I do not want to rain on anyones parade, but why another Charger? In my opinion - I know, there are problems - the money would be spent if there was a 2000 Impala on the works; as Bill stated, the car is large enough and that one can realistically be developed as a Cab. However, if different liveries than Ricko's will exist, I will grab these. Otherwise, that will be that.

The new Charger will be an 08 0r 09 and it is picking up where Ricko left off or refuses to go. They will be bringing out the much awaited Highway Patrol versions and the RT/Daytona models as well .

The new Charger is a 2008. I can't imagine Models11, which carries Ricko, duplicating the models they have produced, especially when there are so many other possibillities out there.

The answer is so simple.
Collectors wished to have more versions of Dodge Charger Police. Ricko refused to make them in low quantity for each version. Masterpiece is willing to make the products in low quantity for Model 11. Model 11 is willing to invest the money. That's why the products have been duplicated.

lynn,
Where did you hear that Masterpiece is making the Charger for Models11? I had the impression that Models11 was solely responsible for the new tooling with possibly some help from investors and distributors. Just curious.

Yeah surely Bill hasn't been holding out on us. I would've thought Masterpiece would only be manufacturing their own products. Must be somebody else making them.

Actually, it's not a matter of me holding out on anyone. Yes, Masterpiece is doing the development and production of the Charger for Models11, however, the reason I haven't said anything is that the ageement is confidential. What is important to remember is the Chargers are Models11 products; Masterpiece is simply doing the production. Without Models11, there would be no Chargers.
And Models11 will not be duplicating the Chargers that Ricko has produced.

It is hoped that more such kind of cooperation to come so that we can have a great variety of high quality models under different brands. This arrangement could minimize the risk to the HO manufacturers as others bear the development and production costs.
