Just saw the pictures of the Brekina/Drummer Fiat 1100 on www.mo87.deA charming model, not entirely up to Brekina TD standards, but when such an interesting prototype is modelled I am not one to complain. Is this the same car as the Indian Premier Padmini/President? This is stated in the article, but I believe that it was a later Fiat 1100 that made it into the South Asian subcontinent. Anyhow, I will get one of these as soon as possible.

Dear All:
I will want that too (spoke to Jack already) because Neckar is a make who disapperead a while ago (always will like miniatures of forgotten makes/models). Charming miniature and quite well made, too.

I believe it's the 1962 redesign that went to India - first as an outright Fiat 1100 and later as the Premier Padmini. Rainer referred to the Fiat 1100 and its huge lifespan in general (and not the particular 1960-62 Fiat 1100 Speciale/1961-62 NSU-Fiat Neckar Spezial) when he mentioned the Indian siblings - after all, the Nuova Millecento was introduced in 1953.

Thanks Marc.
Apparently a Fiat 1100 without the Neckar grill is already available in a set sold through the German post office.

Marc S. My bad! I just joined an Indian Car message board, and most iterations of the 1100 were built in India (except for the 1100R). I wasn't aware of the earlier ones. It was nicknamed the "dukkar" over there. Check out this post for a full exposition on the various iterations of the 1100 built in India, with lots of lovely pictures: www.team-bhp.com/forum/264501-post5.html

But I understood that a Dukkar is a Tempo!
