Hi hobby guys. I am working with some wery small electronics for emergency vehiecles and policecars. It is a emergency warning light bar. It flashes just like in the real. It comes with a number of smal light sources to be used on the front and side of the cars. Arround new year I am counting on having the lightbars in yellow and later in januar I will also be able to sell real small revolving emergency lights. The electronics is working and the small revolving lights looks just if the light actually is turning arround. Please visit my site www.schmidt-teknik-hobby.dk Kind regards John Schmidt Copenhagen, Denmark

John, Sorry my Danish is limited to what I consume as a breakfast pastry (bad attempt at humor there) so I'm not sure I understand what you will be selling on your site. Will the lightbars be sold seperately or are you selling them installed on vehicles only? And you mention you are working on amber, how about red as well? Great looking product by the way, well done! I'm anxious to see the rotary beacons.

Hi (sorry but I can't se any name) I can tell you, that you can buy a little box containing 1 emergency warning light bar and a further 6 extra small lightsources and ofcourse a manual in english. I have been thinking about making the bar's in red, but it will have to wait. Getting the plastic done is in fact not a chip buisness.
Hope the answer is OK
Kind regards John Schmidt

Hi austin. Thanks for your nice words. Clear light sources is available. I am using them for getting the normal frontlights to switch from left to right. At the moments I have no plans for making the lightbars in clear plastic. I can se that I could be an idea for the future. I know that the americans and I suppose also in Canada are using light bars in clear and only the lights are colored. At the moment the price for a kit in blue is 37Euro. You are most welcome to use my diredt mail schmidt-teknik@cph-metronet.dk for further questions. Thanks for your interest. Kind regards John

If they were made available in clear, the customer could color them anything they wanted. By putting food coloring in Future floor wax, you can tint clear acrylic. (great for tinted windows in vehicles too) You're right too that here in the U.S. many light bars are a combination of red/clear or blue/clear. Thanks again for the heads up on these. I've recently been experimenting with illuminating vehicles. Chester

John, I will post my questions here for the benifit of teh other users Will the power supply be out of the vehicle, or will we be able to fit it inside the vehicle (battery powered?) As long as you plan on making a red version, I will be in heaven I suggest you see if a clear version would be possible, I have a strong feeling that it could be easily painted to any color a user wanted. Keep up the good work.

Hi Austin.
In small vehicles like the Mercedes ML on my homepage, the batteries have to be outside. But in fire engines i suppose small coincells can be put inside. The electronics is using 6 v DC. One of my friends gave me the idea that the cars if not placed on a big train enviroment could be put in plasticboxes placed on top of some kind of a black cover. Inside the cover one could have powersupply on 6 v and also a switch to turn on and of the lights. In time i might work on this idea. I can assure you that I will keep the clear plastic bars in mind. I will get them done as well. My problem is that I have to take the economy ind to consideration. The more I am selling of the blue and later on the amber kits the sooner I will be able to extend my possibilities. Kind regards John

John,
Thank you for the information. I see that your European customers will be most interested in the blue version, and these customers will likely be your sales volume.
Please keep us informed of your progress.

Hi Austin. I can tell you and all others that just this morning I have ordered a number of red and clear plastc for the light bars. Then there will be a lot of ways to combine the red and blue light sources. I have talked to one of my friends here in Denmark. He is an expert on painting. He was quite sure that painting the clear plastic will not look as god as if the plastic was made in the right color from the start. In the future I will work on the english part of my homepage informing you about the latest events and also about prices.
Kind regards John
