Hi all: I could not locate what I really wanted for this contest; so, this one is just a quickie. It is a homemade tower wagon for working on the overhead. No detals, just a crude kitbash done about 1968 or so when I first started thinking of doing such things. It is composed of three manufacturers parts; two of which should be easy for anyone. I bet the third items stumps all but the most knowledgeable. go here to see photos of the tower wagon: pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/swampdaddy40219/my_photosHave fun, Swamp Daddy

The cab is Revell. I have seen the tower before but don't recall a manufacture. The body is new to me.

Gee Whiz: I knew this one would be easy. Yep, the cab is a Revell Ford tilt C from an auto carrier. First up and first right -- two more good guesses to go.
And, this contraption has sat without ever being painted nor any further details added since it was originally sort of splice together.
Keep going, Swamp Daddy

The body and chassis look to be from a Roco 114 Lacrosse missile launcher.

Isn't the red tower from a Lesney VW T1 truck? I had one, in yellow, with such a red tower.

Is the tower from the Husky/Corgi series VW truck? Yes, you're right, Edb, it's Husky I mean, not Lesney. That's the model I had www.dropgates.com/toys/huskey.jpgSo ist it?

Hi all: Yep, too easy for you knowledgeable people. BillC guessed part 2 correctly. The body of the truck is from the Roco LaCrosse Missile carrier as imported by AHM.
Sylvain and EdB both hit at the tower. However, it was not in the back of a pickup but in a hole in the roof of a VW van by either Husky or Gordy Toys (it was really so long ago my memory isn't totally sure of the brand.) Same VW van with a cap over the hole was sold as a camper.
The missile carrier and the Camper with tower and a few million other items were in a box not too well packed that were dropped during a move. When I checked this box, the missle was damaged and the tower had come out of the VW and was sitting on the missle truck in the down position. So the old light bulb went on and an early kitbash was born.
I'll have to make the next one a lot tougher. And, if anyone else has a suitable item contact me and we'll make a contest of it; and, I can put the photo on my album pages. Try to make it obscure enough to stump us for awhile. LOL.
Have fun, Swamp Daddy

Hi all: Contest over in June 2006; however, should anyone be interested in doing something similar but (hopefully) better ; you can get one of those LaCrosse missile launcher trucks less the missile here: tinyurl.com/58sko5on eBay, of course . Now I just know some of you were envious of that clunker I put together. LOL. Swamp Daddy

Hi all: As previously reported I had another round of trouble logging into the site with internet explorer. Don't know if it's the site software or my computer. At any rate I switched to the Chrome browser and can now log in again.
Anyone out there want a fun Contest #3? I also found my neglected Photobucket account still there so as soon as I can log in there I can post some photos.
