Hi all: Here is a contest just for the fun of it (no prize awarded). Go to the photo album at the URL given: pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/swampdaddy40219/detail?.dir=/a6c7&.dnm=55c9re2.jpg&.src=phAnd try to guess where the parts for the model came from. Hint: the model was started 10 years ago and never quite finished. All parts are at least 20 years old. good luck and post your answers here. The one person on the site who I gave the answers to is ineligible to spoil the fun of others. Should be fun, Swamp Daddy

I think I recognize the red cab as Lindberg's Ford F-Series...

Hi all: I thought a few more brave souls would give it a shot. Sabuu has the cab right. Come on and give it a try. Answers soon if no one does anything.
As a secondary thing guess the kitbashed truck in the background -- that ought to be easy.

Dear Sirs:
There was text covering the right side of the photo. I 'opened' it and the truck at the background looks like the Athearn Ford C series.
Majorette had a White truck which had a NASA rocket as its load. Is that the load at this truck?

Nick: Your headed in the right direction. The cab is a Ford C but not from Athearn. The body of the box van is two kits (same manufacturer) spliced together to make a 2-axle truck into a 3-axle truck. The splice doesn't show well in the photo on the side of the truck but you can see it on the top as lighter colored line.
The rocket trailer is not from Majorette; it is about 5 times the size of the Majorette one. Hint: It is to a scale smaller than HO; but, it still makes an impressive load. The kit that the rocket came from dates to the mid-60's at the lastest.
Thanks for taking a guess Nick.
all for the moment, Swamp Daddy
PS - answers next week sometime.

Dear Harry:
It is narrowed now,for the Ford C was offered by Yat Ming (diecast), Revell (as a kit,and that was the one which had four headlights) and the current by Aetharn. Hence, the Revell-Heljan is the likely candidate.
Aurora had a circa 1/90 scale model of the Mack version.
Regarding the rocket, I only know of the Majorette one.

I seem to remember a series of missiles done by Revell, I think, back in the 60's. Could have been Monogram.

Hello: Well, we are about there. On the rocket trailer, the cab is a MiniLindy Ford f-150 (which I imagined at the time to be representative of a Ford 350 cab as it was oversized for HO).
The trailer is a Revell missile kit (as guessed by Lee). It has 3 engines in the rear which makes it an Atlas Missile. The scale was slightly larger than N, maybe around 1/150 but it is still an interesting HO trailer.
Ok, on last component, should be found; and, if you look behind the Ford cab it should be easy to guess.
TRUCK IN THE BACKGROUND: Nick has the cab right; it is a Ford C from a Revell auto carrier kit (about 1964-5). Now where is the rest of the truck from? close we are now.
It's been fun, Swamp Daddy

As for the box on the truck in the background my guess is that the box on it is a mini-lindy box from the moving van kit that utilized the ford cab that ended up on the rocket truck. Also it sort of looks like a roco chassis under the ford cab-but i do not recognize if those are are roco wheels so i may be wrong

Hi all: Contest over. Mark (mrbst30) has guessed the remaining items. The wheels and chassis for the rocket trailer came from various ROCO military items bought in bulk from a retiring dealer.
Box van in the background is two MiniLindy box vans spliced together with the Revell cab on it.
To recap: rocket trailer cab: MiniLindy Ford F150 chassis and all wheels: exROCO miltary items rocket and trailer: from Revell Atlas Missile kit
truck in background: cab: Revell Ford C from auto carrier box van & chassis under them: MiniLindy box van
Thanks to all who read it and especially to those who took a guess. Should anyone else want to run a contest I will be happy to put their photo on the contest page.
I will post another weird kitbash of my own later on.
It's been a lot of fun, Swamp Daddy

Stan & others: Yes, at some future point I will post 1 or two more items as contests; however, I have to dig them out and see if they are still presentable. LOL.
In the meantime, I will be happy to host someone else's mystery item or kitbash at my photo album. E-mail me privately at papa_de_marais@worldnet.att.net and tell me what you have.
