I just remembered that Michael Scheel makes accurate US-style rims that aren't available from other sources. I am not the biggest fan of resin wheels but they might look nice on the 87 RPM models anyway: www.mo87.de/index.php?site=1&val=msr&cont=999a (contact details at the bottom of the page).

Thanks for the link. I've never thought about it. If I understand right, wheels are sold without tires?

I have asked Michael for more details; meanwhile I would guess that they are made to fit standard Herpa tires. Orders can be made via email (office (at) msm87.de).

Not yet Christian. I think about the same time as the new US models unless Peter makes a pilot run. Great those new wheels!

Hello Peter: That is an impressive list of models you have. I realized that some of the models you are making are available from other manufacturers and Since I am sure you would not have made them unless something is wrong (out scaled, lacking details or different year) in the available models perhaps you can share your thoughts about them here. The models/transkit I am talking about are:
- 87US-005 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback - 87US-006 1964 Pontiac GTO - 87D-003 1987 Mercedes 300G 5-deurs (Transkit for Herpa MINIKITS)
Thanks in advance. best regards

The 68 Mustang is actually more of a 67 year and is based on the Walthers model. I normally don't just plain copy models but the Walthers model is out of production and hard to find, especially in Europe. It's also been heavily modified to match the proportions better to the real thing. I had the Bullet car in mind when I built it (and that's a 68), so I added the typical air vents on the hood. But I kept the details that give it away as a 67 (side air vents, chrome stripes in the grille) in place in case someone wanted a 67.
The 64 Pontiac GTO by Williams is way too small, about 4mm in length.
To me, the Wiking 300G is not worth finishing the

I would love to add some of these to my collection. The 67 Plymouth GTX, the 62 and 64 Plymouths, the 63 Chrysler 300, the 64 Impala, the 64 GTO, the 67-68 Mustang, the 69 Mustang, the 65 Rambler Classic, and maybe the International pickup. But, my skills suck at getting a good smooth paint job on a body thst small without making the paint too thick. If only the bodies came molded (or painted) in appropriate factory correct colors. I could paint or bare metal foil the trim, and assemble the cars, but the painting part will probably keep me from ordering these.
