Does anyone know where I can order 87 RPM models from? Cor DutchArt was the only dealer I knew of, but sadly he is no longer with us.

I contacted Peter Rings through Facebook. Thats where he posts pictures of his newest creations(usually on one of several Facebook pages for 1/87 scale vehicles). www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=1%2F87%20Scale%20Vehicle%20Models%20peter%20rings&epa=SEARCH_BOXHe is in Berlin, Germany and only takes payment through Paypal so he doesn't have to deal with exchange rates at tax time. 15 Euros per kit, 6,20 Euros worldwide shipping (registered). I ordered some cars from him a couple weeks ago and was surprised at how fast they arrived here in Virginia. His Paypal address is severinus@gmx.de and that might be his e-mail address too. But verify the pricing and Paypal info with him before sending any money. Here's a link to his photos on Flickr: www.flickr.com/photos/79454319@N08/sets/72157633388464352/page3

Thanks Jim, I can't make that Facebook link work but I'll try his email address. I guess you would have to be a member of the "1/87th Scale Vehicle Models" group on Facebook to view posts from that group.

Those manufacturers that only use Facebook sure make it difficult for those of us that do not do Facebook.....

Good Evening Everyone
I have a large collection of 1:87 vehicles that I am thinking of parting with. Most if not all are Busch, Herpa, Wiking and Brekina. Probably around 250 cars. All of them are without boxes. I'd rather not post each one for sale on eBay so was curious if there is another way I can sell them. Should I reach out to a hobby shop and see if they can sell on consignment?
Thanks!

Hi: Suggest you look on eBay and see how those who sell as a "lot" do it. I would not try to sell all 250 as one lot. Most eBay'ers will not want such a big lot. I would suggest you group them in lots of 25 to 50 in order to spark interest and get maximum dollar; and, perhaps, group similar items, trucks, cars, buses, etc. Sharp, in focus photos are a must.
Some hobby shops would like a consignment; but, you'll get a lot less for them that way. Similarly, some on-line sites will buy them from you and resell them. Zycon models is one such site and I am sure there are many other sites that do that.
Whichever way you go I would not be in a hurry to go with the first place you connect with. Try to get ideas (quotes) from several sites before you make a deal.
have fun, Swamp Daddy

So I see that Classic Metalworks Mini Metals will soon be releasing a 74 or 75 Buick Estate "clamshell" wagon in HO and N scale. I've been wanting someone like them to do 60's vintage woody wagons, but mid 70's is out of my era. It would have to be 70 or earlier for me to pursue it (okay I stretched my range a bit for the Ricko 71 Cuda). These Buick wagons won't be on my wish list. They are also going to be coupling a the 1960 Ford pickups with a new mold of a very generic looking 60's style camping trailer. I did end up getting one of their pickup campers, so I'll probably be adding one or both color combinations of the trailers to my layout. The other vehicle they've announced is a 57 Chevy garbage truck. I might have to get one of those too.

I drove my family's '74 Electra when I got my license in 1986, but it was the sedan. I loved that beast--455 cu. in of restricted glory mustering up 210 (net) horsepower from its 4 barrel, SINGLE exhaust (I believe they did have a dual exhaust model with a few more horsepower that year Edit: the dual exhaust version had 230 hp net). Sadly, a woman turned in front of me and totaled it...Thanks for the post because I would be interested in the Buicks!

This one page captures over one year of activity. This is pretty sad.

Hello All,
It's turning into a great year again for 1:87 collectors. Nice surprises for modern era collectors include Busch's Ford Ranger pick-up, the full-sized Chevy pick-up planned by RPS, Herpa's new BMW 3-series sedan, all of the fantastic prototypes planned by Premium ClassiXXs and, of course, Minichamps has outdone itself again. I hope all of them make it to market.
