Christian,
If there were some modern Volvos, Saabs or Jaguars announced from Ricko that would be tremendous! Of course I'm just wishing, and I doubt that I'll see any modern Volvos, Saabs, or Jaguars from any manufacturer in the coming year. Let's see, maybe another Mercedes? Although, I would love to see another GL Class, one of my favorite Mercedes SUV's.

I appreciate the irony Vito, but even Mercedes is cutting back on promotional models in 1/87 so don't expect too many of them this year. Ricko was one of the manufacturers I was thinking of when I wrote that post.

Christian,
Let's hope 2011 is a better year than 2010, because I thought 2010 was pretty much a dud. RPS provided some excitement, and so did TON/Trucks N Stuff at the end with the 4 new trucks. I would love Ricko to make something I can use, and I hope 2011 is a good year for them.

Hello: 2010 is over now and not much excitement to talk about. I hope like everyone that 2011 will be better which is not a big wish because really I was only excited about very few releases and if NEO releases what they announced it will be much better year for me.
The effect of the economic crises should be over by now and as Christian noted earlier most of the models we knew about are already released so time to look forward for Nuremberg 2011. I just hope that samples of announced NEO and Spark models to be there and hopping to hear good news from Model Power, Brekina and Ricko and perhaps a new set of models from Herpa magic series. I pray to hear news about the 2010 Challenger or the Bentleys that spark announced one day but never heard from them again but have little hope with that. it puzzles me why Spark dropped them though the Bentleys they releases were successful ones. Happy New Year everybody. Regards

Neo is branching out like crazy. They have about ten models coming that we know of plus an additional ten probably due to be announced at Spielwarenmesse. I'm not sure about Spark. It seems to me that they have dropped some previously planned models, although not necessarily the Bentleys. Ricko still has the RR Phantom II coming, I forgot about that one. Brekina is pretty much set for the year (see www.mo87.de/index.php?lang=de&site=1&val=system&cont=015 for an up to date announcements list). Does Model Power usually make announcements in Nuremberg?

Hello: That is more good news about NEO. Regarding Spark they seem to be concentrating on racing cars rather than street cars and I really lost interest in their range until they delivered the new Aston Martin Rapide so maybe this year will bring more good news. Thank you for the link for expected releases in 2011 but I don't see any new models from Starmada and the Brekina list seems to be the rumors rather than confirmed list and what about Masterpiece? I will keep the hope up until the Fair.

It is my understanding that there will be new Starmada models and that the Brekina models listed are officially confirmed (with the possible exception of the two Fiats).

Christian,
I hope that list is correct about Masterpiece, because I can see buying about 25 of the American vehicles. As a matter of fact, it will be the highlight of the year considering how insanely difficult it is to get modern American cars to the market in HO.

Vito,
some of the models listed are officially announced while other aren't. I haven't heard anything on or from Masterpiece in 2010 except for the release of the Bugattis, so I guess that Marc just transferred their 2009 list in this case. That's how the mo87 list works: all announcements as long as they are not officially withdrawn.

Currently, everything on the Mo87 list has been announced and confirmed to us (including the entire Brekina list: I was shown samples of the Fiats in 2009, of Passat/Audi and two yet to be announced models in 2010)...
...apart from Masterpiece where we indeed copied the 2009 list and hope for the best. As there are samples of 1950 Ford, 2009 Journey, 2009 Challenger from actual tooling (rather than mere rapid prototype items), and being an inveterate optimist, I do believe it can only be a matter of decades until we find models on the dealers' shelves.

For 2011, I'm looking forward to the Classic Metalworks 53 Ford Country Squire wagon, 53 Ford Sedan Delivery, 40's Chevy pick up trucks, and (I hope) the 56 Dodges. I still hope to see someone release the Masterpiece 50 Ford 4 door sedan, and 2009 Challenger. There was at one time, a 70 Challenger RT showed up on the Busch/Ricko/Masterpiece website. I hope that one makes it to production as well and I have a mild interest in Brekina's announcement of a Corvette (late 60's or early 70's), but I'm not a big Vette fan. What I most want to see in 1/87 scale are American, Canadian, and Australian cars from about 1962 through 1969 (that aren't Corvettes and Mustangs).

Marc S. Vito, like Marc, I am also an optimist and I have seen, held and photographed those Masterpiece models in 2008: www.87thscale.info/trainfest2008.htmSo don't give up hope yet. Obviously, the tooling exists so it may very well see the light of day. As for the 2011 announcements so far, the Brekina '68 Corvette and Fiat 131 is very good news. I also love High Tech's Aston Martin DB4 announcement. The Spark Aston Martins and Gulf-Mirage will be on my "To Get" list for sure. I always buy the CMW releases and I can't wait for the '53 Fords. Unless this is a different model, the Welly Audi A4 is already available through Atlas in the US (listed as 2008 Audi A4 Item #30 000 052). I have two of them and while the paint is a little thick, they are pretty decent. While not in the same league as the aforementioned models, I have come to love the Schuco 1960's Formula One cars. I hope they continue the trend this year with a BRM or a McLaren. While not very likely that we would see them this coming year, I am still hoping that someone (Spark?) produces a Ferrari 458 Italia, a Bugatti Veyron, an Alfa Romeo 8C and the new McLaren sports car.

Wasn't it Ricko who vowed never to work with Alfa Romeo again? That says something ... But I am hoping, too. Marc S.: Is the Tololoko Ursus in your list a newly announced model? I am asking because in the summer of 2010 a rumor made the rounds that the manufacturer had stopped production with immediate effect.
