Thanks for the news! I've been looking every day at Sylvan Scale Models website for these new models since a few weeks, it's great to see them ready already.

I like it how they always make the most of a new model and offer it in different body styles. Plus, you can never have too many independents! Here's something new from Wiking. Many (especially American) modelers like these, so here is your chance to pick them up at an agreeable price: www.wiking.de/en/wikingmodelle/1/set-classic-chevrolet-trucks-727.htmlIn my opinion they do still hold up nicely, even though they were first released in the late 50ies.

Christian,
Thanks for posting that link. I don't see on there where one can buy the set (I saw the list of German retailers, but no websites, and no U.S. retailers). Any ideas how to go about buying the set?
Thanks,
Al Carter

Any ideas how to go about buying the set? Al, I would have said Walthers, but they don't seem to carry the set for whatever reason. Truck Stop Models would be my next suggestion.

Thanks, Christian, No, Truck Stop Models doesn't have that set listed. A Google search didn't turn up anything either. Oh well, maybe it will show up somewhere.... Al Carter

Truck Stop Models doesn't have that set listed. Not yet anyway. They are sometimes a month or two behind with the Wiking news, so there's hope.

Spielwarenmesse is looming on the horizon (yes, already ...). Brekina is announcing a Berliet GLR, US-spec MB W108 and W116 via Starmada as well as the 1968 Corvette and another European truck - prototype still unknown.
Rietze announces a landaulet version of their Renault NN.

…Rietze announces a landaulet version of their Renault NN. Interesting french news, Thanks Christian! I can't find a picture of the Landaulet version of the NN. Could it be the taxi version?

Christian,
Let's hope Spielwarenmesse 2011 is more exciting than 2010 because this hobby could use a couple of blockbuster announcements. How about this for fun? "Busch announces the 2005 Ford Explorer in police, fire, and civiilan versions." I really miss the American vehicles from Busch; is there any possibility new tooling is possible or am I wasting my time here?
Busch will always be one of my favorite HO companies because I'll never forget seeing the 1995 Chevy Caprice at iHobby with the V-shaped light bar. It caught me totally by surprise, and I bought 20 of them eventually. Those were the good-old-days!
