Does any company offer aftermarket wheels/tires like Herpa used to have years ago? I know they have them for trucks, but they don't seem to carry them for cars.
Another question; does rubber hosing work as tires? Many vehicles now come with rubber tires, so I was wondering if a quick fix for many of them is to simply cut off a length of black rubber hose to substitute for (in my opinion) too narrow stock tires.

Real big problem with the wheels for the cars. From time to time you will find some on Ebay. Some times I use the wheels from the kinder surprise eggs, which I can get on the flea-markets for some cent. At the moment I´m looking for the rims and tyres (seven star) for the tuscan. There are so many models for the junk-yard were I only robbed the wheels, it´s a pitty.... Tell me whether the idea with the hoss works. Good luck nick

I'm always at a loss for (good) wheel/tire combinations for both cars and trucks. I end up doing like you (Nick) and buy certain vehicles just for the wheels. That was OK in the days of the $1 Malibu Models but they are a thing of the past. Brekina has a sport wheel package that has an interesting combo or two.
I haven't tried rubber tubing yet but I did have some interesting result using heat shrink tubing over the Automobilia wire rims to make a bicycle type tire for the front of a dragster. Haven't finished the model but will post some photos when I get a chance.

Thanks to you all! David, I could never find tires/wheels on Walthers, but thank you much for the links! Walthers is too big for its own good (in my opinion) but that hasn't stopped me from ordering from them!!
