Dear Sirs:
I remember last year when a similar topic was created for the 2004 toy fair and the mood was from 'same as every year models' to 'very exciting models'. Now,as it is a new year,to be seen what will be announced as new at this fair and hope what was as spectacular as last year.
Albeit announced in 2004, the GMC bus and Toyota Land Cruiser from Busch - plus some others,no doubt - will see the light of the day this year. Let's see what else is to be expected.

I wish someone but Schuco made the Porsche 997. And also models like the Opel Astra or the Ford Focus.

I wish someone but Schuco made the Porsche 997. I have a feeling that there will be a Schuco/Highspeed model, but I doubt whether anyone else will take the risk (which appears quite small to me, but then, it's not my money). This is nothing but speculation, though. And also models like the Opel Astra or the Ford Focus. You might be lucky with one of these. This is not purely speculative. I will post the 2005 Nürnberg news here rather than in the "New Models" thread from now on.
Siku will expand their line of 1/87th scale die-cast models by the following items in 2005: - Mercedes Atego DLK 23-12 aerial ladder (Metz) - Liebherr tracked excavator - Liebherr wheel-loader - Fendt Favorit Vario farm-tractor (900-series?) - MAN TGA tractor/trailer, lowboy w/Liebherr wheel-loader - MAN TGA tractor/trailer, lowboy w/two Fendt farm-tractors
Both excavator and wheel-loader will be among the larger Liebherr products. I am waiting to learn which types they will be. The wheel-loader might be very similar to the one from Herpa, although Siku will offer a die-cast model at a fraction of the plastic model's price.
A couple of Siku's 1/50th and 1/32rd scale items make me speculate on what Wiking will have to show at Toy Fair. The Terex excavator-loader might be a candidate, as could be one of the road-rollers or one or the other farm tractor.

Dear Sirs:
I was following last's years thread yesterday and it was unanimous: Brekina and Busch were the ones who brought the most excitement. To be seen what they would bring out this year. Also, there is Ricko,Model Power and Woodland Scenics that have new items for this year.
Checked Busch site; no news yet.

To quote from the 2004 thread: It would be nice to finally see Wiking's Opel Rekord in it's production version instead of the never ending stream of farm equipment, but that's just me. Do you expect anything special? Christian, It's not just you! The Rekord tooling is rumoured to be almost ready, and I have the impression that they have not buried the project. I certainly hope we won't see it at the 2006 show once again... As for other new Wikings that do not display a VW badge, I expect them to continue their line of miniature construction equipment, which I quite enjoy. As for anything special, Busch should be good for at least a few surprises (and little implements for the tiny Multicar - I want a skip-handler!). Brekina already gave not-so-subtle hints as to their 2005 projects in their "Autoheft" magazine, but experience from the past shows there were always nice surprises in Nuremberg. Rietze recently mentioned two all-new passenger cars they would be releasing in 2005, which does not refer to the Vectra Caravan. With the police of Germany's largest state (NRW) driving Vectra wagons now, there are a number of potential customers for a silver-and-green model, I suppose - every officer wants a model of his daily drive, doesn't he? Perhaps a second chance for the model, or so I hope. Herpa - well, I would be pretty amazed to see them release anything but promotional models - and one more Liebherr. Perhaps a tracked dozer this year? (I am just speculating here.) Ricko's list of announcements is pretty large and will probably keep on growing. The choice of prototypes makes me look for a common theme, though. If I was granted three wishes, it would be a 1955 190 SL in current Wiking quality, a 2005 Opel Astra GTC, and a 1981 Fiat Panda. 19 days. And counting! Marc S.

Just a remark about the Opel Rekord A: In last November at the Cologne railroad-fair I´ve got the information at the Wiking-stand, they will release it in March or May. Let´s hope, this is still valid. Marc, you should get a very nice Fiat Panda from Lion-models. Even if Mr. v. Dobeneck isn´t very busy at the moment, he should still sell his elder kits.

Hans,
I should have mentioned I wanted the Panda in injection-moulded plastic. Freiherr von Dobeneck's models are marvellous, and his Panda is no exception. And still...

Kibri News (new tooling)
- Claas Xerion farm-tractor - Liebherr LTM 1030/2 2-axle telescope crane, new-style cab - Kaelble tandem tractor, ca. 1950s, unknown type
The other new items are variations of existing models and new colour combinations, including former Atlas excavators which come in new Terex-Atlas decorations. A number of machines will be combined with new implements, such as three different Liebherr 974 tracked excavators. The Hamm compactors are back, too, as is a variety of logging equipment. A number of small and large (huge) telescope cranes is re-issued, as well, featuring new decorations in most cases.

Rietze gave some more or less subtle hints as to new models to be announced in Nuremberg:
- two all-new passenger-car models by S........... - Renault Trafic (2nd quarter) - Opel Vivaro passenger-van - Schlingmann LF16/12 pumper and TLF16/25 pumper-tanker with facelifted M-B Atego cab - Schlingmann fire-engines with twin-hose reels - Solaris Urbino III city-bus (second half of the year) - if dealer-orders suffice: Göppel Maxi-Train (MAN NL city-bus with passenger trailer)
Let's see who can guess for which manufacturer S....... stands!

Dear Sirs: Ah,yes! That is what I like about Rietze: their lines of buses. I do not know what the 'S' stands for, but I will by the show time that is for sure.

Saab, Saturn, SEAT, Skoda, Ssangyong, Subaru and Suzuki come to mind, but Skoda is the only one that makes sense.

I thought it could be the new Seat Toledo and Leon (this one will be show for the first time in May) The Saab 9.3 and 9.5 would be also a nice choose.
