I went to Ebay the other day, and noticed someone out of Germany selling the 2 packs of Einsiedler cars in blisterpacks. On closer inspection, they seem to be (or been) a series of beer promotionals models manufactured by High Speed. Are they still in production? Were there any unique models not available via Schuco/Malibu/Model Power? Just curious about these models.

Those models are the same as tha Malibus and Schucos, but in different colors. However, as giveaways they came with lesser print detail if any, which makes them look cheaper than the Schucos. I don't think they are still in production but I'm not sure. You got these models as a freebie when buying a full case of Einsiedler brew (or whatever the drink is). Freebies of this kind have been very popular here over the last few years, at least with cheaply made diecast trucks, but the trend is definately over its peak and I haven't seen new models for a while now.

The trend ist definitly ower! And thats good this way!
As more you drink beer as much you get free models. And then you sold it for a horrible price on someone that dont drink that much.
This models are only adverdising stuff. Poor quality and allmost with no prototype. They are made in one lot and no one knows howmany are produced.
Typicly hipe collecting like Swatch watches or chocolate egg toys. Some are making real money, the most are overpaying stuff witch is not more worth than what it has cost: nothing!!!
At the end: Why pay money for a 87 model on your dealer, when you get beer for less and a free truck? Not realy good for our Hobby.
This hipe is hopefully only located in germany.

I wouldn't mind getting free 1/87 models with my beer ;D! Then again, I would probably be a lounging drunk At least, I wouldn't care as much if the detailing wasn't so good

And I suspect some of these trucks were copied from castings done by respectable manufacturers like Brekina or Herpa. This hipe is hopefully only located in germany. Howver, we get collateral damage outside Germany : discount stores now carry cheap 1/87 trucks with ugly fantasy liveries, and sometimes giant beer barrels on their trailers. They must come from the same molds as the german beer trucks.

Ehm, well, I do think there are quite a number of cheap copies out there among the Beer Trucks. There are, however, some genuine models available, but certainly not all of them are above doubt.
