In 1997 it was published something like the Wiking "Gelbe Katalog" but with Herpa models. There were two books, one of them with PC box cars only.
My question is if this book has more models than those in the CD "1978 - 2003" or the CD was the continuation of the books.

Albert,
As far as I know both the 'red books' and the first CD do not provide a complete 'catalogue'. There seem to be quite a few things missing from the first CD because Herpa simply did not have that information anymore. The books are more accurate for models upto 1996 but I do not know if they list more models then the CD. Later issues of the CD seem to have improved and a lot of the information (and pictures) that was missing has been added in the new releases so I suppose the 1978-2003 version of the CD should be up to date.

New to the board but have been in 1/87 for 50+ years. Have not been active for awhile and need to catch up. Not living in a city any longer makes finding items hard to do. I would like to know where to get the books or cd's. The nearest hobby shop is 60+ miles away. Any help appreciated. Thanks, Sam

Foto Dr. Sam, Welcome and good to see you "back in the saddle" with your 1/87 collecting. You may find the Herpa catalogue available at :http://www.promotex.ca/catalog/cat_hpa_catalogues_1_page01.html
This site will show you much of what is in the catalogues if you spend some time there.

Herpa also has a website www.herpa.de. Click on the appropriate flag to see the material in English.
