It's fairly close to the right size for an F-650 cab; a bit big. Here's a pix of one I built years ago and spliced two together to make a bigger van. I put a photo up in a thread; but, that site is gone.
Let me upload the photo to a new photo page I have and I'll post a link to it in this thread soon.

Dear All:
I have that piece as well, and agree with Peter - it is very close to 1/87. I bought that from KMart in the 1980's (wow, close to thrity years ago).

Thanks a lot, the question came up because in the modellisting they say is is too small. The box of the Chevy Van also says 1/87 but this is far too big. It schould be the same size as the Trident one I suppose?

Thank al lot for this information Peter!
This is not what I ment, but I like it a lot. This Chevy six ton with a Silverado Cab...
Of course I also have the Life-Like Pick-up, but also the Chevy Astro shown in the last link... Looks great, I still have to build mine...
Now I am still looking for the right size of the 1967 Chevy Van from Lindberg which is far to big... The tail looks like the Trident Chevy Van. Does it have the same width? Than I just have to shrink it...

Ah, ok, yes, I misunderstood, sorry. I don't have the van but I also think it's much too big. Wikipedia lists 90 inches (2286 mm) as the wheelbase for the short van.

Dear Cor:
I do have the Lindberg Chevrolet Van (among another vehicles from that range) and most of their cars and light trucks are on the 1/64 - 1/76 scale range. Only the big trucks are close or HO sized.

Yesterday I received the nr. 3 Jeep FJ-3 Fleetvan Mailtruck. Has anyone the sizes of the real Van?
Thanks for your help so far!

Dear Cor:
The Van, if I recall well, used the Jeep chassis as a base. I classified the ones I have as 1/76 scale, unless someone here states otherwise.
Best Regards,
Nick K

OK Nick! I'll see what I can do with the information! A bit like the Jeep pick-up truck from Eko then....

I am looking for the kit number for the Lindberg “High Rollers” series “High Hauler” Ford van for my model data base. I have most of the High Rollers and Over the Road kits but I do not know the year and type (Ford F-100) of most of them. The site listing does not have all the kit numbers. If it would help I have some that are missing from the listing.
Hi Rollers: Cement Mixer kit # 1025 - looks like an early 50s White cab – off scale, small Mail Truck kit # 1021 - listed as a FJ-3 “Fleetvan”. Did Jeep or American Motors make this thing? What year(s)? All I remember was the postal guys hated them as they were unreliable. I thought it was a Grumman. Another beast USPS had for a while. It looks off-scale, high Pick-up kit #1027 - Chevy, I think, with a camper, Year? off-scale, high
What year and model were the little stubby Ford tractors in kit # 1022?
Over the Road: Ford Cl-9000 shorty kit #1052 - open box trailer, Year? GMC “Astro” kit #1055 - refrigerated trailer, Year?
My goal is to model up to about 1967 so I believe the Over the Road series is too new. Not a problem, my son models in the 70s time frame. Too late for me, I want a caboose on my trains.
I have not seen any comments on Classic Metal Works. Is there a reason?
I did a kit bash on one of the Lindberg High Hauler kits. I wanted a fire truck for brush fires so I took the Lindberg Ford van cab and mated it with the tank body from the Eko Pegaso kit # 2093 Fire Truck. I mounted a hose reel on the back using black thread for hose and a touch of brass paint for a nozzle.
I would appreciate any help. Thanks Richard

I have not seen any comments on Classic Metal Works. Is there a reason? CMW models have frequently been discussed as new releases arrive, in "Even More New Models" or "New Aquisitions." They are scaled correctly for 1/87 and are welcome additions to our world.
