More information here about Makette and their program of French models here www.makette.de/www.makette.de/makette_f/neues/MAKETTE_neuheitenprospekt2010-www.pdfThey announce 3 different products in term of cars: a series of "porte-autos" wagons loaded with cars, a series of wagons sold with a model of a car or a truck in a livery related to the wagon, and a new series of Citroën cars in our scale. For the "porte-autos" wagons, Martin Klinger from Makette told me that the models used will be from the catalogs of other manufacturers, possibly UH, but also Herpa or others. For the series of Citroën models, models will be all new, in resin and sold built. There have been some informations about the other models or the series on Mo87 lately, but so far, only the prototype of the DS Présidentielle Chapon 1968 has been shown.

I am just guessing here, but the cars on the auto-transport train cars might be like the old Tyco train car ( maybe 1970's) which featured 1968 Camaros and 1968 AMC something or anothers.
I do like the Citroen DS which seemed to be offered as a stand alone model. I would actually be interested in the 3 different kinds of cars being transported as well, but would prefer not to have to purchase a whole train car to get them.
Please keep us updated, European members.

I don't think so, I think they really want to use good qualiity models. For the series of models in resin, I've read on Mo87 that they're thinking about doing a Citroên BX 4TC, Citroën DS "Mille Pattes" and a Citroën 22 CV Faux Cabriolet

The Citroën BX 4TC has always been one of my favorite vehicles. Completely illogical, unsuccessful and brutally ugly, it was instantly overshadowed by its cousin the Peugeot 205 Turbo 16. This near mythical beast always seemed one of the most unlikely cars to ever make it into 87th scale.
Maybe they'll make a Visa Milles Pistes also? Another silly '80s move by Citroën's racing department.
I assume "Makette" is an intentional teutonification of maquette? All said, I welcome their presence and will probably buy everything they make - although it's hard to imagine where to display the "Mille Pattes". I guess on a strip of racetrack, surrounded by tires.

I assume "Makette" is an intentional teutonification of maquette? Yes, though it's been in use for some time (now rarely) to describe art objects and antiques. For me the DS présidentielle cannot be topped, but the BX 4TC does come close.

I don't think so, I think they really want to use good qualiity models. I hope so! But I also hope that I won't have to buy a whole rail car to get some of the vehicles.
