Albert,
I saw the links you posted for Ricko and Masterpiece... please tell me this is only a sample of things to come in 2010 because there wasn't much there at all. As it is, I'm not expecting much for this show. If Ricko would release just a few new colors for their Escalade and PT Cruiser, for example, I would be happy. As for Masterpiece, everybody already knows what I would like for 2010, and obviously they weren't there on the link.
It would be nice to see a couple of surprises so we can get re-energized.

Busch's announcements, and that refers to Masterpiece and Ricko as well, cover only the first half of 2010.
As for Masterpiece, Busch decided to announce only models they are confident to deliver within short notice - the Bugattis are due in early March. Everything else will be announced if and when it's available.
Masterpiece told me the 1950 Ford, Journey, Challenger, 1989 Taurus and Ram pickup were still on their agenda. Busch is just not willing to announce anything from Masterpiece they haven't safely stored in their warehouse.
Busch will have a brochure with news for the second half of the year in summer.
As for Ricko, I know about a second Rolls to come later in 2010.

What about Ricko's Lexus 350? I see no mention of it and have heard nothing about it but the other Marc said he purchased it in Paris just a couple of days ago at the autoshow there, so is it out and there just hasn't been anything said to us?

The Lexus RX 350 is out: Busch shipped it with the December items in early December. Three colours, and a lovely model. Could need larger wheels, though. The wheelset from Wiking's VW Touareg Mk1 is a perfect replacement. Pictures and German review: www.mo87.de/index.php?site=1&val=ber-mot&cont=485Marc S.

Ponyman, I was wondering the same thing before I came to Paris. The same goes for the Spark Bugatti Le Mans 1939 winner (usually Burbanks House of Hobbies gets the Spark models before Europe). I was happy to snap up the Lexus, but Walthers still shows it as yet to come. Very unusual for Ricko models to be released so late compared to the EU. I am following the announcements of models being released at the Nürnberg Toy Fair. So far, pretty slim on exciting announcements but I can't say that I am too surprised given the past year's economic downturn. The Ricko Rolls Royce models are pretty nice. I'm glad to see that Masterpiece will finally ship the Bugattis previously announced. I am anxious to see if Red Line produces the new Ferrari 458 Italia. Furthermore, Spark models always excite me so hopefully they have a lot of new announcements now that they have produced what was previously announced. A nice alternative is the continued release of new models by Vollmer/Welly/Schuco/et al. For the price, models like the Land Rover Defender are a nice addition.

Marc,
Thanks for the update on Masterpiece. If Masterpiece can release half of the models you mentioned in 2010, they will be the most exciting company for me personally this year. I can always use more modern American vehicles!
I took out a previous paragraph I hade here to say something positive about Ricko. They make great quality models, and many of them fit my layout theme perfectly. They don't have to come up with new tooling, really. Just re-release 3 American models in 2 more colors each. My choice would be the Escalade, PT Cruiser, and Charger. Tooling is already done and it would be certainly cheaper than a model from scratch. Hopefully, Ricko likes this idea.
Vollmer/Welly has potential to do some good things but all I see are re-treads of Mini Coopers and the Land Rover Defender is too large so I scratched that off the list months ago.

…Ricko is putting me to sleep right now, they really are! Somebody please wake me when they do something interesting. After the Lexus RX 350, there is nothing… It's a question of point of view, don't you think? For my part, I welcome the two Rolls Royce…

Vito,
I understand your disappointment with the number of new Ricko releases. After all, their pace of new and exciting releases in the past four years have been staggering. I guess it was bound to slow down a bit. Perhaps the second half of 2010 will bring some new releases.
So far, looking at Marc's reports on Mo87.de, it appears that 2010 will be a year of fewer new releases than we have come to expect. One piece of interesting news is the possibility of CMC releasing the A-008 Auto Union Typ C and the A-009 Ferrari 156 F1 Sharknose (one of my favorite F1 cars of all time). Knowing the quality of CMC, these would be spectacular.
I am still hoping for some exciting news from Spark/Red Line.

It does, indeed, look line 2010 will be a year of slim pickings in terms of new releases for those of us who collect modern vehicles, with the industry moving back to a more German-centric focus as well as a focus on European youngtimer models.
I had hoped that Schuco/HighSpeed or Vollmer/Welly would have provided a surprise or two in the form of the new Jaguar XJ or a Ford product such as the Fiesta. As the new XJ will only be released in 1:1 scale around April/May, it could still be a possibility.
On the bright side, however, VW and BMW together with Herpa have been relatively adventurous in releasing mutiple colour packs of new models such as the F10 5 series and the new VW Polo, which bodes well for those of us who collect colour variations. In addition, VW deserves praise for releasing the Amarok concurrently with the launch of the real thing in South America instead of waiting for the launch in Europe.
Furthermore, a number of new vehicle launches are expected from German manufacturers in the next two to three years, which will should be replicated in 1:87 scale by Busch, Herpa or Wiking.
These include the following:
2010:
VW Jetta VW Touran facelift VW Sharan BMW X3 VW Touareg II VW Passat
2011:
Mercedes A Class (including a four door sedan) Mercedes C Class Coupe (not the current E-class coupe) BMW 1 series Audi Q3 Amarok single-cab
2012:
Mercedes M-Class Audi A6 Audi A3 3door, Sportback and four door sedan Mercedes B Class Mercedes BLK (B Class SUV) VW Golf VII BMW 3 series
