I decided to empty all of my parts boxes last night to see what I have stashed away and forgotten.
It was amazing to see what gets collected over the course of twentyfive years.
Neat finds:
11 Alloy Forms Steering Wheels 1 Walthers Ford COE grain truck (I don't remember buying) 10 Ulhrich Mack and Kenworth Trucks Various Kinder Surprise vehicles
When was the last time you emptied your parts box and what did you find?
I recently went through my parts box(es) and found a tremendous amount of stuff I knew I would never use. I put much of it on ebay and was surprised to find what value others place on these assortments of "junk". Some of my own best finds have been in these parts box lots after weeding through them. I am usually one that hoards not particularly whole kits but more along the lines of wheels, exhausts, fuel tanks etc. although I was surprised to find a Williams Bros. GTO (and I just bought one too!) and a SMCC truck. Joe, I have been searching for a long time now for the Ulrich Kenworth and although the new owners of the company claim they will be releasing it again, I am tired of waiting. Do you want to part with one?
As the concept goes: what is junk for some is a treasure for others.
My parts box - if can be called that - is composed mostly of the extra stuf that came from the 1/24 and 1/25 scale kits. As I heard, these items can be used as an acessory on a diorama and/or to finish a kit that has parts missing or converted to something else.

There's money in them there parts boxes partner!! Just for the heck of it, I pulled a enough out of one of mine to fill the scanner screen and put the result up for auction on ebay. I too was surprised at the price that it went for.
