Dear Sirs:
This is the place where I get my Greg Garage models. I truly like the selection from this manufacturer and up to now I got their Studebaker bullet nose, 4-door 1950's Mercury and my truly favorite: the Reo School bus (alas, never saw the real thing - the school bus, there is).

Well, I like Meguntic's list better. Wish I had based ours on that one, which makes more sense.
What's your opinion on Greg's Garage models? I am grateful that they exist, for most of them anyway. A bit lazyly manufactured, though.

Wish I had based ours on that one, which makes more sense Hem… I wonder if the fault is not mine somewhere, if I remember right… "Mille excuses"… For my part, I like Greg's Garage models. They're welcome of course, and some are really nice. And I like the fact that for some cars, like with the Ford 1940 or Plymouth 1941, all body types of a year are available (sedans, coupe, convertible, station wagon). And also that, like SMCC and now Superba and CMC, many of their models are plain sedans. A little problem, I think: many models seem too small for 1/87th scale.

I've got a question about some Greg's Garage models: is there really a difference between their 1948 and 1949 Oldsmobile? I can not tell, because I've ordered once the two and I've received two models labeled differently, but which are in fact the same model.

I wish they would try another resin.

Sylvain: I will check my stock and compare the 1948 and 1949 Oldsmobile and post my findings.

Sylvain: I checked the two Greg's items in question. The items you received must have been packaged wrong. Although Greg uses the same "core" for both models they represent two differant vehicles. GG-75 the 1948 Oldsmobile "98" 4 Door Sedan is a "Trunk Back" model. GG-87 the 1949 Oldsmobile "88" 4 Door Sedan is a "Fast Back" model. I hope this info helps.

Christian: I do not normally post here, as I do not want to see this forum become a tool for promoting private web sites as I have seen happen on other forums. The posting of a hard to find items is fine, ( Cutter's Cars, Superba ) But I feel resale web sites do not belong in the forum. It is nice to read various topics of interest without the constant promoting of private interests. For the most part we all know where to go to buy the items we need without being reminded every day on the forum.
Although I do a large volume of Greg's Garage, and they fill a need in the modeling area, you are correct in that they could use some better detailing. I feel that more time should be spent on the detailing and less time on the volume of differant vehicles. Although I have not scaled a specific vehicle, some "appear" to be out of scale.

Dwight, I for one would like to see you start a thread about your business and website. Part of this message board is about what is available and where it can be found. The modeling world has opened up for me after finding this website and the message board.
I have said a lot in the past about what I found out both in doing resin casting and finding other's products. The main reason I have been doing so is so others do not have to go through all the trials and errors that I have had to.
As you can see, this message board is broken up in many topics which helps the reader locate what they are looking for. And there are many, many readers who are not members, but who are looking for information, both about product and where to find it.
Oh, you might mention this site on your website ;D

Dwight,
I generally agree with you. We monitor the message board carefully to keep up the great atmosphere and to not let it degenerate. However, I feel that (as long as it helps the discussion) it is alright to post info about manufacturers and dealers. We are a very small community and we know each other well enough to assess the posts and the intentions behind them. I guess I am not alone in finding your posts very helpful and informative.

Some of the pieces that I have do not seem to be cured. They are sticky. I wish they would try another resin. Same here. Once painted it's not a problem anymore, though. I heard that Focus in Holland produced some of Greg's models under license in hollow resin.

Dear Sirs:
As far as I am concerned, I like Greg's Garage due to the same factor I enjoyed SMCC: they offer a large amount of four-door sedans - something that is forgotten by another manufacturers - so far I know no one models a 1949 or 1950 Mercury 4-door (it is the eternal string of 2-door coupes) or one of my favorites - the 1948 Ford fordoor. Granted, some of them are funky but by George they do offer variety of vehicles something that I like to see from a manufacturer. If they would mold a 4-door 1955-1957 Chevy they would be really all right for me.
Loved their Reo bus.

Some of the pieces that I have do not seem to be cured. They are sticky. I wish they would try another resin. I have had similar problems with the cars from Greg's Garage, also seen the problem with some of the very early Magnusons, wonder if they were using the same rein.

Thanks Dwight, that helps me a lot! Both models I have are Fastback. Seems rather a 1948 fastback Oldsmobile, by the way. But if the other one is a trunkback, now I know I have another model to get! ;D Same problem that all of you with the quality of the resin, but as Christian says, when the model is painted, it's not a problem anymore.
