just wondering if anyone could tell exactly how rare are the IMSE kits? i'm interested in their vintage jaguars - the c-type and the xj13. i write tv commercials, most recently for jaguar, and we had the great opportunity to film a global jaguar commercial which included a c-type racing on a track in siracusa, sicily. the jag client was even going to let us film the one-of-a-kind xj13, but logistics killed that idea. whenever i can, i try to find models of the different car marques i've worked on during my career. if these are available, and aren't too expensive, i'd love anyone's help trying to find them. thanks to all.
p.s. bjarte, how's that '68 ford torino you're working on coming along?
skunk, i read sometime back that you were building a lions ferrari daytona. if possible, could you email some pictures? thanks.

The kits IMSE released in their early years are now almost impossible to find but they have started rereleasing some of them. Christian may be able to help you there.
As for the XJ-13, that would have been the replica. The original XJ-13 was badly damaged when it crashed at 140 MpH and was never rebuilt.

I am in touch with Mr Imse - he re-issued the XJ13 for me. It's not all that great, but it's the only one in 1/87. Send me a PM for details if you'd like. He has also offered to start production of the C-type and a few others again, but with a minimum order of 20 kits I can't do much right now.

Sorry, the only Daytona I have is a quite awful BS-Design one, and I am doubtful as to whether I'll ever feel like its even worth trying that one. My only Lion model is an Isdera 036i Spyder, purchased from Christian. Very nice kit.

There is a TV-show called "Victory By Design", hosted by well-known long-distance racer Alain de Cadenet. This shows premise is that he travels the world to drive all important models of various successful race car makes. Those Americans that have Speedvision may be able to catch it, I don't know if it's still on.
In the Jaguar episode the XJ13 features, and it is a glorious piece of machinery. De Cadenet certainly has a nicee job.
