I built a car museam that's supposed to be built into the Hollywood hills. It's purely fictional, but proves to be a great display case for my model collection. takyamamoto.com/museum.html

I am in total agreement with Chester. That is one fantastic model that you did. Not only is it a very well thought out and executed model but you did all the rest of the preplanning needed to build it.
(For those who aren't to quick, like me, there are eight pages with the page turner in the upper left corner. Look for the square with the H in it. To the right of the square is an arrow. Click with your mouse on the arrow to go to the next page. It only took me a couple of minutes to figure it out. ;D)

I didn't think there would be people so close, but Lee you're right next door.
The school I will soon graduate from, Art Center College of Design in Pasadena CA, is having its graduation show Friday August 18 (7-10PM) and Saturday August 19 (12-5PM). It's open to the public and no RSVP is needed, but you will need to park in the Rosebowl Friday night and get shuttled up to campus. Saturday parking is never a problem.
I invite anyone that would be interested in seeing this model (in room 223) and the work of over a hundred other students’ work from ten majors including: product, transportation, entertainment, illustration, fine art, and environmental design.
Swing by and see a lot of other cool work from some very talented kids. I'll be showing off 13 other models, mostly what's on my website.
Hope to see ya, Tak

Dear Tak:
Great model . Thanks for informing those of us in Los Angeles the wonderful opportunity to visit Art Center. I have always enjoyed my visits there, and also the student displays at the Los Angeles Auto Show. One always comes home inspired by the work of students from this great Art Institute.
Since I live about three miles from Art Center, I plan to visit Sat.. Will you be there?
Thanks for sharing this great model. It is a wonderful design concept.

Thanks for the invite to see your work Tak. Jerry and I will be there Saturday at high noon. We will assume that you are talking about the 1700 Lida St address and not the South Campus at 950 S Raymond Avenue

Yes, all the student work will be at the main hillside campus at 1700 Lida Street in Pasadena. I will be on campus both days at all times, I'm hoping to run into some industry contacts in hopes of a job. You'll most likely see me there, if not just ask for Tak from Product Design, I'll be close to my models at all times. I look forward to meeting you guys.
Cheers, Tak

That's a very nice piece of work you have there, superbly detailled! I especially like such details as the central column with the surrounding lights and the freight elevator. Great!!

Jerry and I went to the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena Ca today as we thought Tak was talking about this weekend. We found Tak's diorama in room 224 along with some of his fellow students, but no Tak. The school was in full swing with students working on their projects everywhere. The hallway have big windows looking into all the model making rooms so we could watch without being in the way. Picture taking was not allowed and words wouldn't even begin to tell all that we saw. All I'll say is that place is a model makers paradise ;D

I heard you guys stopped by. There's been some confusion for I meant I will be there when the grad show is happening. The grad show isn't for 2 more weeks. Its Friday August 18 (7-10PM) and Saturday Aug 19 (12-5PM).
I apologize for not having the dates in there before. So for anyone that wants to come up again, its in 2 weeks. The model will be fully populated with a hundred plus cars too.
Thanks, Tak

The trip over yesterday was very interesting in that we got to see everything down and dirty in full operaton. The open house in two weeks will be all show and tell without all the students working on projects. We are both glad that we went and will try to make it again in two weeks.

Tak, sorry we did not see you Sat., but was happy to see your great model and meet some of the students. The energy there is really fantastic, and reminded me of my college days. However, we certainly did not all the wonderful high-tech tools you have today. I will try to make it on Sat., but unfortunately, I have a prior commitment that day.

If you can make it, I can offer this tantalizing tidbit: there will be a couple of very new models among the exhibits...
