I like to have a lot of projects going at once. that way I can always find something I feel like doing. Right now I have been doing some detail painting on some '53 Chevy's (a 210 and a 150), a '38 Ford, a '40 Ford, several '50 Chevy's and a '47 Studebaker. If I could figure out where to type the address, I would post some photos.

If I could figure out where to type the address, I would post some photos. Just type the addresses in your message here, as part of the text, and it should work. But you need to type the all address, so a copy and paste is easier. Try once, we'll see if it works or not. Very interesting models you're working on.

Thanks Sylvain, it worked. I'll try to get some clearer pictures. All of the cars in the photo are castings I made, except the Alloy Forms Studebaker and the Busch Buick.

Here's another shot of some of my "project cars". The flash of the camera makes the colors lighter. Clockwise from lower left are: '38 Ford DeLuxe, '40 Ford Standard, '50 Chevy Fleetline Special, '47 Studebaker Commader Starlight coupe, '50 Pontiac Streamliner DeLuxe, '50 Chevy Fleetline DeLuxe, '53 Chevy Bel Air Sport Coupe, '53 Chevy 210 Sport Coupe, and a '53 Chevy 150 Coupe. Some of my first efforts were somewhat crude, but I'm still learning and perfecting my techniques.

That is very very impressive work.
I, too, like having a few projects running at once: That way one has something else to do while waiting for some other part to dry, or if one gets bored with working on one and the same car.
It's fun to see so many models, all at different stages of completion.

Thanks Sylvain, it worked. You're welcome. Interesting, your 1950 Pontiac and the 1938 Ford. For my part, I always like the design of the 1938 Fords. And I like the way you modify cars to obtain a different model of the same series, like the 3 1953 Chevrolets.

I was asked to post some photos of my train layout, so I picked pictures with vehicles in them. In this picture the guys at the coal company have just loaded thier new '55 Chevy 2 ton truck. White wasn't a good choice of colors.

Sorry, I had to get a train in one picture. The eastbound local has stoped at the depot for orders. The agent's new '55 Chevy is parked in front.

Great photos. Your backdrops add a lot of depth to the scenes. I too especially like your modified autos. You have an impressive line up you have in progress. One thing I found hard was choosing the colors. Sylvain provided the link to this helpful site. www.tcpglobal.com/autocolorlibrary/ Modeling 1955 is interesting because the pastel colors have recently become popular in place of the greys, olives, blues, and maroon that are so prevalent in color street photos from after WW 2 into the early 1950s. I have always wondered why olive green was popular in the years following the war. I hope to see more photos of your model railroad with these vehicles ( and the trains ) Dave

Thanks Dave, I've been off work sick for a few days and I'm getting into this photo posting thing. Here's a picture of the Life-Like '56 Ford stake truck. I painted the grille white and replaced the wheels with some castings made from the Alloy Forms '55 Chevy 2 ton truck. The wheels that come on it look too small. I also put a wash of flat black over the entire vehicle to kill the shine and make it look dirty. The truck looks a little large when next to a scale model but by itself it's not too bad.

One more and I'll quit. The vehicles in this street scene are mostly CMW cars. The '57 Chrysler and '58 Chevy's headlights have been touched up with white paint. I prefer white to silver for headlights. I'll paint them silver and when the paints' dry, I'll put a dot of white over it leaving a little silver around the edge for the trim ring. The Lancer is a Revell kit and the '50 Chevy Fleetline is one of my early castings.
