Since the discussion on the Magnuson models is very widespread on the board and often off-topic, I think it's better to start a new thread for upcoming questions about these models. I put the etc. in the thread title because some discussion or question may lead to or refer to another manufacturer. First of all, many thanks to you folks who provided me with the information on the Walther models. Looks like I had a big gap in knowledge there. I've seen that there are three hollow Magnuson re-releases listed on the Magnuson page, I crawled a little through the internet and found another ones. This is what I found sofar:
4008 Grain Truck (re-release of Magnuson N° 947) 4011 Mack Dump Truck (929 with new tipper body) 4012 Logging truck (929 with new logging trailer) 4013 Wood Chip truck (944 with new trailer an no air deflector) 4014 Pulp Wood Truck (maybe a Magnuson model that didn't make it into production)
4008 - 4013 are surely based on the old Magnuson kits. Looking at the numbers it seems that there were or are more models planned than the ones that were already released.
If you wish to add these models to the list I could provide a scan of N° 4011.

Walthers kits 4001 -- 1959 Marathon 4-Door Sedan Taxi Cab 4002 -- Divco Milk Truck 4003 -- 1941 Pick-Up Truck These are all magnuson repops that are now hollow Personally I preferred the original solid castings, but that is just my opinion. I do not know what the original magnuson numbers were though

The original numbers for these solid cast kits were: 914 - 1959 Checker Marathon Taxi 917 - 1950's Divco Milk Truck 919 - 1941 Ford Pickup A list of the solid cast Magnuson vehicles can be found here on the 87th info site under Model Listings: www.87thscale.info/magnuson.htm

Of all of the resin kits I have ever purchased, the Magnuson/Walthers kits have been the most diverse in quality. For instance, the Dodge Bighorn, the Mack R and the several Ford Aeromax pieces I have recieved are atrocious castings. And yet I have the Mail truck and the Nova hatchback that are near perfect. Could be the age of the pieces or just by chance but it seems that quality control was a bit neglected.

I have a number of Manuson and Walther model. All are very nice, but they are consistently off on proportions, as a Checker expert, I can tell you the model is way off, even in year, its actually a post 1974.
I really like the Ford F500 Cabover, but it too is way off.
The Dodge Mail truck appears to have a Boyertown body, the the van is again out of proportion....the van body is too high.
The good news, is that cast in resin, all can be reworked
I also believe the the International Loadstar Cab, can be reworked into a late fifities era/ mid sixties International pickup cab. Another future project
