WOW!! Great pictures of some fantastic modeling. Makes all of us sorry that we couldn't be there. A big thank you Christian for sharing with us. My favorite is the Mack water tower fire truck.

I am glad there are quite a number of impressions from the Fulda meet on the 87thscale.info site! Additionally, the winners of the Fulda modelling contest can now be seen at www.1-87vehicles.org. The resin-cast Jag S-Type is a Jens Müller creation, just as the Cougar (which is a one-off). Marc S.

One question: What is the red and white boattail convertible, first page bottom, right photo? And can we see it elsewhere? Chester, I just sent a reply through 87scalecars, but will repeat it here as others might be interested as well. Andreas Kaluzny, who had built the model in question, told me it is a 1933 Auburn Boattail Speedster 8-98 V12. He had purchased the Danhausen/Metal87 metal kit some twenty years ago, but he expects you will face difficulties finding one now - Gunter's Car Company, Oldenburg, Germany, might be worth a try. The high-quality small-series model kits came complete with light-alloy wheel rings (Herpa BBS-style), die-cast metal hub, and rubber tires. The windows were made by Andreas, horns and details are from the parts bin. I expect to have a photo for a future gallery soon. Marc S.

Thanks Mark, somehow I just knew it wasn't something we'd see much of. Now I know what to look for.

Chester, I forgot to give a link to Andreas Kaluzny's website. He produces decals for (mainly) Hamburg fire engines, but cares for passenger cars as well. Click on "PKW-Modelle" to see some of his excellent work: galerie.hamburg-decals.de/. Marc S.

Hey, there is a picture of your stand on the first page, isn't? Yes indeed. The Ford/Mercury Cougar is, as Marc mentioned, one of Jens' one-offs and it will most probably stay one. I will however tell him (once again) about the favor his model generates ... More pictures at Mo87: www.mo87.de/starter.php?site=report&val=ber-ver&cont=008

In the pics from the Club Meet I also see a VW Caravelle (the eighties one) with square headlights. Did someone manufacture a grill like that or is it homemade? The reason I ask is that I was very proud of having done the same thing myself...

Skunk,
That should have been one of Tobias Wilhelmi's (aka Zoobie) Volkswagen T3 pick-ups. The square-headlight grille is by Roco; it is most often seen on Roco's white 'United Nations' crew-cabs, but was available on THW and red-cross models as well.

Well, now I am bitter, having done all that work for naught.

I know. D'oh!! I've seen what Jens has done with those Minis, so the Jag looks very promising indeed. All I need to do is look into doing resin moulding and then start making some MG's and Rovers. ;D
