Almost always the big manufacturers offer a model without telling wich type they actually offer. So is Mattel with the Peterbilt. I've got one with a Michelin trailer. It seems that the truck has a wrong scale (1:100) so I want to replace it for another one. But I want the same truck-type. Who can help me and where can I find a perfect new truck?

Dear Dutchart:
Try the established HO manufacturers such as Promotex or Model Power who offer a good amount of rigs; Herpa may have some avaliable. Also try Walthers (they have a site) or a store called Truck Model Stop. These places may be of help for you.

Dear STANHAS87,
Very well but that does'nt give an answer to my question what type of Peterbilt I've got. So I've got the Mattel Peterbuilt from the Matchbox Collectibles, with the old truck. I was thinking about a new resin truck and not that plastic from Promotex..

The Herpa/Promotex Peterbilt is very good to scale but a horrible imitation of the prototype. Actually a generic truck in my opinion. Thw Wiking is a terrific model of the 379 but it has been pointed out that it is actually closer to 1/93! The most accurate and to scale models of the Pete on the market today are the Hi-Speed/Boley 377 Pete and the Italeri also a 377 (both diecast). The better model in quality being the Hi-Speed/Boley (and actually Shucco as well). I will stand corrected on this, being that Classic Mint Collectables is now offering their version of the 379 but with a sticker price of $500.00 (with Talbert lowboy) www.classicmint.com/ only a few of us will be seeing it delivered. My first choice, however small, is the Wiking. I can direct you to pictures of the finished models of all of these.

Dear Dutchart:
The Peterbilt from Matchbox collectables are one the first ones ever built,a 1939 or so model I believe.
Imex also does offer one and this seem to be in the right scale. Walthers do offer Imex products.

Dear Dutchart:
You are welcome. Imex is part of the Golden Wheel group, who's a really busy body. You should not have any problems finding it.

There is one other that bears mentioning, that being the one from Albedo. However, after seeing this one up close, I do not believe it warrants a purchase.

Dear Cor:
The Peterbilt from Christian's link is 1/80 scale and that site is the largest on Matchbox listings.
As far as I know about ERTL's Pet's, this manufacturer did not made any efforts to cite what model it is. Hence, it would be your best guess what it can be.
Hate when they do that,too.

Dear Sirs:
It may be me,but the Pet load at these trains looks like the Coxs that I have.I do not remember Model Power offering what seems to be plastic trucks.
