I'm going to model this semitrailer and I have to make the inscription "Pellicano". I had thought to make a decal and appy it, but it's not a flat surface and it might be quite difficult. The other way came to my mind is "simply" to paint the inscription on the finished model. I'd like to avoid this method as it's not easy to make a precise inscription like this without making errors, and if you make an error it's a problem, since the base is white and it's hard to cover the blue of inscription. Any suggestion to help me in this project??? Thanks

Barnaba, I would try the decals first. Decal setting solution should make the decals lay nicely in the details of the truck. If you have a problem, they are easily removable to try another technique. I use Solvaset from Walthers but I have used Microsol from Microscale and been happy with it too.

I'me not experienced in large decals; I have a Microscale solution, but I've never used it before and I don't know which is the limit of these solutions. I thought they could help on curved surfaces, but not on angular ones, like this (the ribs are about 1mm in relief). Anyway, I'll try to make the decals and than I'll try to apply them on the trailer; maybe I'll ask some help to a friend of mine who makes 1/24 cars and is accostumed to apply large decals on non-uniform surfaces.

It might be easiest to make two decals, cut them into smaller pieces and then "puzzle" these together. That way you might get the necessary overlap.

Hi: I've used Walthers SOLVASET (hope they still make it now that I've recommended it) in the past and performed miracles. Follow directions explicitly on times. My decal even sunk into the brick motar lines on a building. I did cover it as recommended with 'Dullcoat' spay to make sure it stayed on.
Good idea to do this before windows are put in (or shield cab windows.
All for now, Swamp Daddy
