Funny that you mention the Cinquecento, that is one of my favorite Herpas. I am buying many of them since I plan to turn them into various Japanese K-cars... someday. That would be nice, but means a lot of work. Do you have any model in mind? A Nissan cube maybe?

I was thinking of a ca 1990 Suzuki Alto/Fronte, it has a similarly slab-sided appearance. I think the Cube is quite a lot bigger, I would just have to shorten and narrow the Cinquecento a little to get the right proportions.

^ This version is interesting, by the way, as it came equipped with sliding doors. The Peugeot 1007 (like the Sésame showcars) has been made a big deal out of, but the Alto offered it back in 1989!

... the Seat could appear at Christmas ... Photos of an Altea sample model are on the Rietze website: www.rietze.de/de/aktuelles/aktuelles.htm . Iveco Eurocargo and Opel Vivaro pre-production parts are also shown.

I must say that I like the Altea, both the real car and the model. Having children all of a sudden doesn't seem so bad! Or, it wouldn't if I could buy an Altea in the US... Feeling elated: After 13 months of worry, stress and hard work, my senior project is just about done, except for some minor revisions. ;D ;D ;D - Had to tell someone, no one but I am awake here...

It wasn´t announce before, was it? Correct! Big surprise they did not even hint at in Nuremberg. And great news, for that matter I am also happy to see the Altea in the flesh. Should be worthwhile to annoy your local Seat dealer, at least in Germany. I assume Deutsche Post is the driving force behind the Vivaro. Opel is DP-AG's exclusive supplier for mid-range transporters in 2004; and Rietze is notorious for producing tens of thousands of small yellow Transits and not-so-small yellow Iveco EuroStars for the German postal agency and their DHL freight & logistics branch. Having children all of a sudden doesn't seem so bad! ;D I told someone to shoot me should I ever come home with something like a Touran Marc PS: Before someone asks - I was not referring to my Wiking Tourans...

The Vivaro is a nice surprise indeed, now we only need to convince Rietze to do the Renault Trafic and Nissan Primastar versions as well ;D Or is that asking too much...

Happy to see the Altea! After the information I´ve got, I feared we wouldn´t see him. Perhaps is Christmas the date for appearing in the normal program. But anyway, it´s nice to get new models and not to be disappointed like in the case of the C5. The Vivaro let me hope, that we will see the Vectra Caravan later this year. I´m not sure, but I remind of having read, that the german Post will buy Vectras too. So it could be more attractive for Rietze to release this car.

So they want to release the Vivaro in about two months ... not much time left considering the model's unfinished looks.
The Seat model appears to be hand-painted and a few parts, like the grille inserts still need some work, but I guess that it'll be available in a month.

Oh, and ... I told someone to shoot me should I ever come home with something like a Touran Couldn't agree more (with the shooting ... ). I believe Eric once called the Opel Agila a refrigerator on wheels; I am curious what he has to say about the Touran. ;D Skunk: Congratulations!

I believe Eric once called the Opel Agila a refrigerator on wheels Inspired by the huge horizontal doorhandle on the rear of the Japanese original, but hey, since it's basically the same car.... ;D ;D I am curious what he has to say about the Touran. ;D You caught me there... I don't know really.... It's such a boring car I can't even come up with a nickname for it.
