Dear Sirs: I been talking about EBBRO and as always, let the pictures do the talking. One of the things that I appreciate from this manufacturer is the fact that its models are not limited to the more popular japanese models. As I load its URL down I am thinking on Skunk at his passion for japanese vehicles. I understand that is not 1/87 but is worth a shot. See it below: www.ebbro.com/WEB.htm I want everything ever made by Ebbro, but I am also trying to refrain from expanding into other scales... of course, a 1/43 scale model is a great base for scratchbuilding your own 87th scale car. The first gen Honda Civic is my next want-to-do.

The first gen Honda Civic is my next want-to-do. Dear Skunk: If not anything else, cars in larger scales can help one mold better details on smaller models and/or give a better view of the real vehicle. Busch made its Crown Victoria based on the 1/25 scale version from Lindberg and Bob Kelley was the one who shipped the model to them. Is an effective tool when the real vehicle is not around to be measured, photographed, the works. Hence - my opinion - you get one of these, build the details you want in 1/87 and after that, sell the larger model. I also saw the EBBROs in the flesh at Burbank House of Hobbies and trust me,their Toyopet is the real deal. And who knows, they may mold the Daihatsus that you are after (they have an active old car roster). Nick K

I have just been reading all this (yeah, I know, day late and a dollar short!). How many people here collect 1:43 scale cars to make 1:87 scale versions? I had heard that Corgi will be releasing 1:43 scale models of the Rover 75 and MG TF, so I might have a bash myself ;D

Dear Sirs:
A new series of 1/43 scale from Maisto is the Urban Metal series, which includes a Dodge Magnum 2005 and Charger 2006. A mini is also one of the offerings.
It seems that the Charger 2006 from this series was one of the first replicas from this vehicle.

Dear Sirs:
According to this catalog that I got from the iHobby expo, this company,Classic Dragon, will molded a state-of-the-art (there is a photo showing how many parts will go this model and it is a good amount of) Red Flag, the Chinese Limousine. It seems that there is such thing as a Red Flag club and their mission is to preserve the heritage of these vehicles and hence this model. Unfortunately,I did not asked any questions about it,but the Catalog is quite clear about the details on this model.

Dear Sirs:
Went this way: I stated,on the 1/64 scale II thread that I am not aware what 1/43 Scale High Speed models exist. This was this morning.
In the afternoon,I went to Autoboos to pick up the current edition of MAR.Sure enough, someone had an article listing their 1/43 scale releases (and, again,to my enormous surprise,is a lot of them! I have difficulty finding these outside of,perhaps,eBay;to be frank I did not checked there, either).
Many Porsche miniatures,Audi,Ford,BMW,Buick,Mercedes,Volkswagen,et al.

Dear Sirs:
The Saint Petersburg's trolleybuses, buses and LRV's are on three digit prices, but they worth the while due to the variety (and should I say, history of) subjects.

I've done some of the K&R kits and have a few Vanguard models in 1/43. Both excellent but like Håkan, can't bring myself to collect a lot of stuff other than 1/87.

Chester, You are right, but in 1973 I owned a Hillman Avenger Estate and it will be realeased by Brooklin/Lansowne. This guy want to make it a Continental (In England it means that the car has the steeringwheel at the left side) model for me. Look at the Hillma treat as well. And there isn't one in our scale (yet). Greetings. Cor.

Dear All: One of the issues happening in 1/43rd Scale.Hakan was right to state once that the collectors of 1/43 are very happy for almost everything was done in this scale.Model Auto Review on-line also had an article about these items.Bought some of these recently - the Simca,Willys Jeep Rural Wagon,Ford Corcel Belina II,Dodge Dart,DKW Vemag sedan,Volkswagen 1600 TL and (Brazilian) Volkswagen T2 Van.Others will come later. The way I read, some Chinese Company agreed to mold Brazilian cars to be sold on the Brazilian Market. These come inside blisterpacks with the title (in Portuguese) of History of Brazilian cars.As I heard, these have a pull motor and opening panels and their scale is elsewhere (between 1/36 and 1/43).The Chevrolet Veraneio SUV,Aero Willys 2600,Dodge Dart (4-door) Sedan 1975 - which had the same body as the 1969 Dart, but a different front end,the Brazilian Chevrolet Pick Up of 1964 and 1958 were made. Some explanations below. The Chevrolet Veraneio SUV was introduced in 1964 and along with the pick ups and full size trucks had a design that was made for the Brazilian Market only.At the end of its production in the 1990's,the Veraneio looked as a Suburban. The 1958 Chevrolet Pick Up was similar to the American version, but had an unique design at the sides of the bed and they also produced an 3-door SUV in that period. The other car just released is the four-door notchback Volkswagen 1600 sedan. This one was too for the Brazilian Market only and used most as a taxi cab; came in 1968 and it was previous to the introduction of the Volkswagen TL which was a best seller there and over the years it gained a front end unique to the Brazilian market;two and 4-door versions of the TL were sold. The Notchback sedan 1600 was called, due to it square appearence as the 'Ze do Caixao' (Joe from the Casket) - that was the given name to a Brazilian Actor who made horror movies.Plus others, such as the Alfa Romeo 2000,which was an offering from FNM - Fabrica Nacional de Motores - who manufactured trucks based at first on Isotta Fraschinni designs, later Alfa Romeo. The Cabs of the truck were made by different bodymakers. The 2000 sedan was also known as JK,a homage to the Brazilian President Juscelino Kubistchek, who introduced the Brazilian Automobile Industry in the early 1960's. By 1978,car imports were forbidden in Brazil.Hence, some companies would do conversions - the Sedan Maverick or Dodge Dart to Station Wagons,or using avaliable platforms, such as Volkswagen or GM,new makes of Vehicles. The Gurgel was a major manufacturer of 4x4 Vehicles;and there were such others as the Brazilian-made Miura, which had nothing to see or the Mechanicals from Lamborghini.Hence, miniatures from these two manufacturers were also made. At the same time,IXO,under the Altaya Collection (with booklet) also issued a row of models, such as the (Brazilian) Simca Chambord,Volkswagen 1600 TL,the 1975 Dodge Dart, the Hillman Avenger-based Dodge 1800 (later called as Polara - very, very different in size and mechanicals from the American Polara),Chevrolet Opala (2 and 4 door sedan versions.Note:the 4-door sedan was introduced in 1969;the Coupe in 1972 and the wagon came a tad later),the Esplanada (or Simca Esplanada.Note:Simca Chambord was last made in 1967;the Esplanada was an interim replacement until the 1969 debut of the Dodge Dart.Similar to the Simca, albeit at the front end,it had AMC-inspired stacked headlights. Also came with Emi-Sul engine, which was a Ford engine - Simca bought the French Ford and the Simca Chambord got most of the engines and mechanicals from Ford, including an almost-hemi engine which in Brazil was denominated Emi-Sul;was not as powerful as the Chrysler version),the above mentioned Miura,Volkswagen Gol,the 1975 Volkswagen Van(Note:the Volkswagen T2 debuted in Brazil around 1976;however,it did not had the sliding door and the windows went all around the vehicle,as the Samba bus,but no windows in the roof),Ford Corcel,Corcel Belina II Station Wagon,Alfa Romeo JK and so on.I did not see,at the IXO/Altaya collection the Veraneio,Aero Willys,Renault Gordini (as the Dauphine was called in Brazil) so I would assume that these are the powered ones.Plus more. I wanted to get these cars since last year, but the issue was that the Brazilian dealers at you know where wanted $40.00 (or $45.00) for the vehicle and $20.00 Shipping (no disputes on there). In the end, these Hong Kong Dealers were selling them - the IXO versions - at $15.00-$20.00 and $6.00-$9.00 shipping.Hence I got the 1965 DKW (known as DKW Vemag Belcar.Vemag was the manufacturer who would manufacture, not assemble the DKW sedan. In 1965,the front door was of normal, not suicide opening, and one no longer had to put oil and gas to the two-stroke engine;the motor was re-designed so that action was no longer needed) which is a significant model, the Dodge 1800,Dodge Dart,Simca Chambord,Volkswagen 1600 TL, Brazilian Volkswagen T2 Van 1976.I also found the Volkswagen 1600 notchback sedan from a Brazilian dealer;$20.00 + $20.00 shipping.Maybe.Also got the Willys Rural Station Wagon (Note:this is the Jeep Station Wagon before the Wagoneer, which in Brazil had a different front end and different third window in the rear. The Pick Up was also made, and,as Ford of Brazil bought Willys in 1966,this pick up was known later as Ford F-75).Still want the Opalas,Miura and Volkswagen Gol and very, very much - the Esplanada and Volkswagen 1600 Notchback.Next month.Earlier, some of the IXOs were also sold at very inflated prices. The IXO Models are referred as the IXO/Altaya De Agostini models, and they come with a Magazine. So basically, there is the IXO models in 1/43 scale and the powered models (Veraneio,Aero Willys and others) which are made in larger scales and have opening panels.
