Lee: OUCH! ;D Honestly out of all the walk-ins I see everyday that is the first Iveco van I've seen with 5 lug wheels since the 70's. ;D Bill I apologize everyday is full of surprizes. Lee thanks for the pics.

We did model the van wheels on a photo I found of a real van. I still hope someday to be able to get a more typical style of wheel on the model.

FYI: Masterpiece has a new website: www.masterpieceautoreplicas.comThere will be some updates this weekend, though I think this group knows about all of them. Hello: The website does not work for me? Any body have the same problem? regards

Works for me ...
I found three (officially at least) new Austro Daimlers among the Busch announcements for 2008:
87140 Type Sascha 1922 87150 Alpenwagen 1911 87160 22/86 by Healey NYC 1912
All to be released in September in Germany. By the way, why is there an "87" in the Masterpiece item numbers? Since all of the models so far are in 1/87 scale it doesn't seem to serve a purpose other than to distinguish them from yet to be announced models in a different scale?

Bill,
Great Masterpiece website! It's informative, colorful, and eye-catching, yet easy to navigate and uncluttered. Very nice.
I have one quick question. On the mo87 site, it lists several of the Masterpiece models as planned for the summer, while the new website indicates that they will arrive in the first quarter of '08. Is this just a difference in delivery dates between Busch and Atlas?
Again, great work. Kudos to you and Tony. Good luck in Nuernberg this year!

Yes, there is a difference in the dates for Atlas and Busch. Certain models will be available in the U.S., Canada and the U.K. before they are available in Germany. For example, the Main Street Motors models should ship next month, if we can get the tooling fixed for the Ford in time.
The Masterpiece numbers start with "87" because there are already plans to produce at least some models in other scales.

Sorry, Nick, but no. Masterpiece does not want to be in the mass-market toy business, especially right now. Furthermore, we have discussed 1/64 with a number of people and nobody sees a viable market for high-quality plastic models in that scale.

Furthermore, we have discussed 1/64 with a number of people and nobody sees a viable market for high-quality plastic models in that scale. Dear Bill: No problems, I understand. I am melting in happiness as of now because of M2 Machines Autho Thentics, a new 1/64 Manufacturer, which are bringing high quality (twenty pieces per car at least, as an 1/87 model) miniatures of the 1955 Pontiac Star Chief, 1953 Oldsmobile 98 and 1954 Mercury Sun Liner (my apologies, but I do not see those getting to HO any time soon). Thanks for considering this scale, though, I truly appreciated to hear that; the Plymouth does exist in three inch, but the 1970 Ford does not. If 1/43 or 1/24 is considered, excellent. Nick K

Bill,
The step van's wheels look great, no need for anything else! How about a roll-up door so we can have a Fed Ex version?

We'll probably do a couple more releases with the "barn door" rear end but we have a roll-up design in the works, too.

Bill,
Great news. So, if we cross our fingers, we can hope for Vito's Fed Ex van!

Tony,
I think quite a few people would buy the Fed Ex version and a USPS version if possible. I really hope that either or both can be done if the licensing issue isn't too expensive. A good mix of generic and real companies on the step van should be a recipe for success. I second that, the roll-up door is great news!

Don't get too excited just yet. We haven't had any luck talking to FedEx about a license and USPS is very expensive. We are also waiting to see how the vans sell in Europe when they are introduced later this year. Plus, we have other planned releases for the current tooling before we change it.
