Both models look fabulous. I'll be buying the Charger in all the colors. More hits from Masterpiece. When will they arrive?

Bill, Both vehicles look great and I can't wait to buy them at the local HS. The glass looks frosted on the Journey, this will be corrected, right? The Masterpiece collection is going to get much bigger soon! Vito L. The tooling needs its final polish which will take care of the "frosted" glass. The Challenger SRT8 will be offered in just three colors: HEMI Orange, Bright Silver and Brilliant Black. Those were the only three colors offered on the real car.

Bill,
Thank you for all your hard work on these models! I am looking forward to all of them, especially the Challenger and the Main Street models.
I like the looks of the Journey and only can wish that either the Dodge Nitro or Jeep Liberty could be modelled.

Bill,
Looks great! Where can I buy them? The more colors you can make, the more cars I can buy. I shall buy all of them in different colors.
I also wish to have both the Dodge Nitro, Jeep Liberty and Jeep Grand Cherokee too. They are all beautiful cars!

The 1968 Plymouth Fury I and 1970 Ford Custom are both wonderful models and I'm planning to buy dozens of each, in every thinkable colour and fleet vehicle variation. The Ford front design looks just great now, and also the Fury looks better now as the rear part has been lowered a bit. BillC: I have a couple of questions about these two first models in the Main Street Motors line; Will these be available as Taxi models too ? One of my favourite collecting themes in 1/87 are Taxi models, especially American vehicles. If the sales of the 1968 Fury and 1970 Custom are succesful (which I'm sure they will , will you consider to make also the 1967 Fury and the 1969 Ford Custom too ? These should only require a new front piece and rear bumber/lights, and maybe some other minor details. In my case this would double the sales of these models ;D (and perhaps among several other collectors too ?) Good luck with these and other great projects. BJ

BJ,
Yes, taxi versions are planned for both the Plymouth and Ford as are fire chief versions (needed for the Athearn trucks).

I talked to Dave Casdorph from Atlas Model Railroad and there is a possibility of another Jeep model. Notice I said possibility. It's not too often that a vehicle gets painted in 7 different colors; actually, I think this is unprecedented in HO scale. Obviously, the 2007 Jeep Wrangler was a sales success for Masterpiece and I suggested the 2007 Jeep Liberty also.
Bill, thanks for the reply and please tell me that the Ford Explorer is a possibility for the Main Street Motors line one day. I think it would be a perfect fit because of multiple uses (police, fire, civilian).

The Jeep Wrangler is the best-selling Masterpiece model and another Jeep model is definitely possible, though I think it would probably be an older model.
I think an Explorer is a great idea. Especially a first-generation version.
I don't see a Nitro. It hasn't been well-received by the consumer or the press and it may well be one of the models Chrysler cuts as part of its plan to downsize the line.

Glad to hear about the success of the Wrangler, it's my favourite Masterpiece model so far. If the Wrangler is the best-selling vehicle you should really get into the Land Rover Defender I mentioned months ago. Although the Americans may not know it that well, Masterpiece could show what they are able to do, as it is a difficult vehicle to make, as the Wrangler is, with all the different body parts. And it's a European Icon.
Sad about the Nitro though, I think it's the company's best-looking SUV.
The Explorer would be great. I like the facelift version of the first better, than the original version, but that is also fine :-)

Hello: The models look good and the grill of the Ford definitely looks better. It seems to me that producing models is taking much more time than it used to take. I recall that Bills list for 2007 models that he posted early last year shows that both the 68 Plymouth and 70 Ford were already planned and we are already in May 2008 and the models still need time to be released. Other companies also have delays in their announced models ( Edition Atlas, Wiking, Reel Rides ...etc) and we should get used to delays. A black wash to darken the grille would also help. Will Masterpiece do that or we have to do it? regards

Bill:
Great news on more JEEPS, maybe a 84 Wagoneer Limited ;D, or a CJ since ROCO's are hard to get, or even the pickup. Great American gas guzzlers. ;D You know the pickups were used by a lot of fire dept and search and rescue, sherriff depts still today floating around in volunteer depts and some rural airports.

I am guessing a 70's Grand Wagoneer is likely, you know, that old familiar shape. Should sell well everywhere. I can't see any reason for not making it.

Bill
Are you in a position to give us an update on the possibility of seeing modern Volvos in the Masterpiece / Main Street Motors line-up? Potential developments in that direction appeared to be positive a few months ago.
On the Chrysler side, is there any potential of seeing the new Chrysler Town and Country in our scale? Although it has Nil glamour factor, the Chrysler minivans have always been popular in Europe and may be popular in both the US and German markets.
