On the MO87 website I learned that Schuco is producing 2 Ferraris in HO, the 458 Italia and the 458 Speciale. This is very good news for collectors and for myself, where I have a dealership that occasionally gets some super cars to sell! Of course, there are many new Porsche models coming too. I'll be tempted to do a Porche dealership one day.
Now, how about Neo making some exciting American cars and for BHOH to carry all of their production line.
I'm still waiting for this "BIG ANNOUNCEMENT" from Herpa. What is it? Did I miss something from last year? Is it due for this show?
Can Busch please offer some newly tooled American vehicles? No, the 1964 Mustang hardtop does not count in new colors.
Toy State may have won the under-the-radar award last year because their models are pretty well done for the price. The Cat colors are correct and the quality is close to Norscot, at 1/3 or 1/4 the price depending om your source. I've added 2 models to my Cat dealership and will post photos later. Now, 4 are close to HO and they are available at Toys-R-Us in the US.
I'm hoping for a good surprise or two this year, perhaps from RPS?

Dear All,
Once again, from my point of view, the show's announcements appear somewhat disappointing. However, not complaining this year, as I have spent quite a sum on building my collection of older models in various colours. Plus, at long last Neo models have come down in price to a more attractive pricing point.
As I collect mainly 1960s - 1980s cars, not many announcements so far fit into my category. The highlight must be the new colour variation (green with black roof) Ford Capri from Wiking and the VW Porsche 914 in yellow. The new Morris Mini Minor from Wiking may also be interesting. Schuco are re-releasing their Mercedes models with hardtops in new colours I believe so that is good. Herpa, Busch and Brekina very disappointing, but Herpa are stating I believe, that there will be two new German sports cars this year. This in addition to last years new car from a non-German maker yet to be seen ? Vito - like you, did I miss something ? Don't think so.
With reference to NEO, perhaps someone can enlighten me but did I hear a story about them being in trouble financially ?
What I do hope this year, is that all the manufacturers catch up with their announcements from previous years and hopefully by the end of the year are up to date and can look forward to announcing a new set of models for 2016 and on. Been waiting for the Simca 1100 and Renault 15 from Makette seemingly ages !
On a separate note, nice to see Norev releasing their Atlas models in new colours and liveries. These, in my opinion, are very welcome additions to our scale even though they are not new but just colour variations in the main.
Cheers, Gary

As far as I understood it is unlikely that the Makette Simca 1100 will be made, as Martin Klinger didn't find a company that can produce these models for a reasonable price. I don't know about the Renault 15, as this is planned as a Resin model. But I wouldn't hold my breath either. Which is sad.

mstar,
Thank you for the sad news/update. I have seen its been on the unsure list via mo87.de for a little while and with these tough times for manufacturers, to be expected I suppose - sadly as you say.
Hope that Norev may decide to do the Simca - though little hope for a year or two with their Atlas models being re-invented in different colours/variations. Maybe Brekina, plenty of variations can be done, but I think it may not be as popular as much as I like/want it. Also, when I spoke to Brekina last, they said they were concentrating on more East German models at the moment - as can be seen by the recent announcements.
Thanks for update anyway. Much appreciated, Gary

Did Neo announce anything new, or are they in trouble? Was Oxford at the show? It looks like it's Herpa and RPS for 2015 as far as new models, everything else doesn't do it for me. Somebody please tell me, what happened to our little hobby?

Somebody please tell me, what happened to our little hobby? Vito L. According to mo87.de Neo will not produce models in 1/87 any more. Neo will be replaced by a new make called BoS (Best of Show) to produce Resin models of exotic prototypes (like an Wiesmann Roadster or Mercedes 600 Hearse) The models will be more simple and cheaper than Neo models.

Here are the new for 2015 Schuco models--several new Porsches will be available as well as the above mentioned 458 Ferraris. I just hope these all make it the US. American Excellence mail order seems to carry several of the more obscure items available via Schuco and Welly for the US members, so hopefully they will have some of these! And, yes, Burbank House of Hobbies, too. Good news from Schuco!! www.schuco.de/en/models/new_releases_i_2015/edition_187/

Its probably worth mentioning that since we first found out about NEO possibly discontinuing their line of 1/87 scale vehicles, cars that were already announced got released. Among them were the 74 Buick, the 76 Cadillac, and most recently, the 76 Chrysler Town and Country wagon and 79 Trans Am. There were at least two other cars that had been announced as future releases by NEO back then. One was a 1968 Dodge Charger RT and another was a 1972 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. Every few months I check NEO's website to see if they are listed. Tonight I checked again. For the first time since I have been searching, they list on their website, three Charger RTs and some Cadillac Coupe DeVilles as future releases in 1/87 scale. No model years are mentioned and no photos are provided, but that development gives me hope. I will want a couple 68 Chargers in every color! On the page for the Charger you can submit your email address for further info on the car. We'll see if they respond to my request. Jim,
Gtrat catch on your part, let's hope we see these final 2 releases in HO. I would also want 2 Chargers in every color. Neo, if you're reading this, please do the Chargers! Go out with a bang!
By the way, Schuco did a great job with new announcements and the new Porsches look great as well as the Ferrarris.

Jim,
What a great find and thanks for sharing. It gives us hope that maybe these are the last knockings and may already be produced and waiting to be distributed.
I know its all about money, but I was surprised that NEO did not say we will not produce any new models but will finish what we have produced so far. Certainly the Fiat 130 and Saab 99 and a couple of others from memory, must have been so close to completion from the design point, if not already done, that they only needed to be produced and packaged. Now, I know that costs money, but surely NEO would think let's try and recoup some of the design costs by producing these and selling them. I expect it is not as simple as that, but I still think some of the models they showed at previous toy fairs looked so near to mass production, that providing they have not gone bust, it's worth producing them and trying to get some money back on your investment.
Still, we live in hope that maybe we will see some more NEO models.
Thanks Jim, brightened up my day.
Gary

Metall87 thanks for the brilliant write up of Nuremberg 2015. Wow what a great insight into all the smaller suppliers offerings. I would like to use some of this material in MAR Online if you give your permission for me to do so.
As far as Neo is concerned. Neo is a Model Car World brand like White Box and Best of Show (BoS). BoS models are resin but have printed detail rather than photoetch and sell at a lower price point. If you look on Model Car World you will see that many 1:87 Neo models are currently available at a significant discount. I think that they were just too expensive for the market to bear and the switch to making 1:87 as BoS is so they can be more competitively priced.
