jim68cuda: Yep, that shelter would be appropriate alright and I have a number of those 'modern' kits yet to be built. Note in the very first photo at the Zealot site of the ancient cardboard mock-up the two slanted loading bays under the restaurant overhang. They will be used for local transit lines and maybe also streetcar lines. However, I did plan on a shelter somewhere there too. Maybe one of those Kibri kits. Work described in part 5 is current. Older parts of the article were photographed ages ago allowing the quick bulk of the article to go at once almost. But now, the finishing details on floor 3 are in real time meaning I am posting photos of sub-parts as I build them in my spare time. Slower going on the modeling now than before.
This is my one "super project" going all out on detail whether you can see most of it or not. Further projects, while having nice detail, will be of more common kits I've built rather than this massive scratch built project. It is about 15" wide, by 12" deep and nearly 5" tall. Quite large by HO standards.

hi all: Modeling often takes a back seat to the real world. I am getting some painful arthritis in my right hand and can not always do what I want on some days. Still poking along as best I can. Several projects with photos are located here on Zealot thread, "Scratchin' and Bashin'" and updates there from time to time and hopefully I can remember to post them here too (http://www.zealot.com/forums/scratchin-bashin.249/).
Of note in this post are the buildings 34 & 44 project: www.zealot.com/threads/building-34-44-kitbash-plastic-parts-mixnmatch.180517/
A mix and match project of several Pola buildings as imported by AHM, IHC, Model Power and others. This project uses a novel hook and loop construction (sort of like a giant Velcro assembly). It is "underway" but not nearly complete. The idea works well; but, it is cumbersome to use and I probably won't do more buildings like this but hopefully will finish these two interiors at some future point.

Hi all: My latest building project is here, www.zealot.com/threads/government-center-stacking-type-kitbash.180635/, at the Zealot site. It is a combination of 4 of the "IRS burning building" kits by Pola as imported by AHM, IHC, Model Power and others. The main building is a 7-story "skyscraper" with the flat roof + a 3 story adjoining building with a slanted tile roof. I have enough parts to add two more floors to the skyscraper which I will do at some point.
Modeling the big city is not very popular; but, in my fifth (and definitely final) layout I am trying to assemble a major city. No rolling hills or countryside this time.
Unless I learn how to make my own smoke fluid this will NOT be a burning building . All 4 kits had the smoke fluid dry up long before I bought them. I will probably install some flickering red LEDs just in case I can make fluid for them. Windows are small but an interior is furnished in the kits which I will use.
In one of the photos you can see two Stoney Mountain Packard automobiles as custom painted by Dave Johnson (a member of this site).
I hope to make more progress this summer.
