Interesting work Mark, occasionally I get to work on shoreline stabilization projects here on the coast of Maine when I'm wearing my code enforcement hat. Love being around the heavy equipment especially the water based barge cranes.

Hi,
Just joined this group, now that I've retired I have time to do some modelling, get my 1963 Chevy stepside and my Panhead Hardtail back on the road.
I worked as an Air Traffic Controller for over 35 years at Maastricht UAC in the Netherlands. I was involved in training and system development for much of the time and spent the last few years as a supervisor. Interesting work but 911 and subsequent changes changed it all for ever. Was actually glad to get out of it.

Hi,
Well, in an attempt to get out of the 'novice' league and to let you know a bit about me, as I may contribute the odd thought and comment here and there, I thought it only right to add to this thread as well.
However, after reading it and discovering there are; architects, air traffic controllers, civil engineers, partners in hobby shops, finance managers and a manager of a small company, I cannot offer anything too exciting here. I work in financial services for a big multi-national insurance company. Been there all my working life (to date), but with times a changing, expect to leave via redundancy next year. Then need to enter the real world of work and find a proper job. Would love to run an 87th scale business, but not convinced there is much money in it, particularly as I will take many of the samples from my own stock!

I'm still in education, i'm 17 and in higher education (Sixth form college) studying History and English. Also have a part time job at a local supermarket to pay for driving lessons, and saving up for a car as well. In a year or so i hope to join the Royal Air Force as Weapons Systems Operator, Crewman
