Hi everyone: Got a Kibri 13012 Liebherr mobile crane. This is a somewhat difficult kit to assemble due to the many delicate parts and complicated construction to have some operating features. Picture soon. I tend to NOT glue things together until the last minute. So, if I do something wrong, I can often take it apart and reassemble it correctly. And did this several times on this kit. Makes a great model and with it's 4-part telescoping boom it will reach 14-20 stories high in HO. It has a boom extension which I am not using but will keep for possible future use making it even longer in reach. As with typical kibri kits the boom can be extended (and held in place) and raised and lowered by operating hydraulics. Crane rotates on the chassis but you will need to use the "jacks" built into the model to stabilize it.

I went to Burbank's House of Hobbies the other week and bought one Oxford '68 Charger with the intention of buying more and the '69 Daytona just as soon as an anticipated check gets to me. I have to say, it is a nice model for $9 and fulfills a 'dream' to finally get an actual, authorized '68-'70 Charger in '87 scale. I used to go to Smith Brothers Hobbies in Northridge, Cal. way back in the 80s and 90s (still there) and buy my 1/87 cars there and use the Walther's catalog to order cars they did not carry. It was exciting to get 'that call' that my vehicles were in. One year, I forget, but I am guessing late 80s, there was a Charger in the catalog from a company that looked like it was handmade or something by them. I mean, the car was built, but it looked crude, but it was a Charger, and I wanted one. I ordered it, and found out a few weeks later that the model was canceled (if I recall they never made the model) and that was the last Charger I would see in 1/87 scale to now! 25 to 30 years, it took. Yes, there were unauthorized ones, but I could never figure out how to track those down. So, I am a happy man...

Just got a blue Brawa trolley bus and a 1-1/2 deck "Casino Express bus". Hopefully I'll catch up on photo taking and update my Photobucket pages. Now, if I could only find the charger for the camera's battery pack. Hopefully soon.

Got a couple of Oxford '68 Chargers and one '69 Daytona before (sadly) moving out of the Los Angeles area a little over a month ago (bought them in person from Burbank's House of Hobbies). Good looking models, and the '68 Charger fulfills my quest for a production 1/87 scale Charger from the '68-'70 model years. The last time I had seen one offered for sale was from the late 80s in the Walthers catalog. I lived in the L.A. area, and as a young man went to Smith Brothers Hobbies (when I moved back to L.A. from Arizona in January 2018, I was happy to see the shop was still open after the 17 years I had moved out of L.A. in 2002). They had several 1/87 cars to keep me happy year after year. One year the catalog showed, if I remember correctly, a brass Charger in HO scale. I ordered it though the store and eagerly awaited the call that the car would be in. Of course, in the meantime, I went there and purchased other cars they had in stock. One trip, the clerk gave me the bad news in person--that vehicle was canceled. Fast forward at least 25 to 30 years, and we were blessed with the Oxford Charger and as an added bonus a racing/street Daytona! Prophecy fulfilled, and I am happy. A little sad to see this group VERY much on life-support, but I guess I will eventually get around to joining one of the 1/87 groups on Facebook.

I seem to remember a company offering diecast kits of a 60's Jeep Gladiator pickup and a 65 Shelby Mustang fastback many years ago. The Jeep was a nice model, and I still have it. The Shelby Mustang was a bit clunky looking. That manufacturer listed a 68 or 69 Charger and a 66 Ford Country Sedan station wagon as "future releases". Neither was ever produced. Years later, NEO listed part numbers for a 68 Charger RT and a 71 Cadillac Coupe DeVille in three different colors each as future releases. NEO left the 1/87 scale market before those Chargers or Caddys made it to production (though they did make a 76 Caddy). Bub made a Dukes of Hazzard 69 Charger (with solid windows) in 1/90 scale, and more recently a dark blue version of the Charger with flowers. www.american-excellence.com/Schuco/234372/Diecast-Car-Dodge-Charger-dark-blue-Decorated87RPM models makes a resin kit of a 69 Charger that has been available for a while. I have a couple, but I haven't attempted painting and building them yet. They make a 66 Ford Country Squire wagon kit and 64 Ford Country Squire wagon kit too if you were disappointed the diecast Ford wagon kits weren't ever released along with those 69 Chargers all those years ago. www.flickr.com/photos/79454319@N08/page2Now its very cool that Oxford now makes the 68 Charger and 69 Daytona in 1/87 scale, though they got the rear window trim wrong on the 68 and the rear bumper wrong on the 69. Still, they are nice models and I really love the red 68 Charger. I can't wait to see the additional 68 Chargers in other colors. My backorder from Walthers is already on the way, but here's another vendors photo of the recently released gold 68 Charger. www.american-excellence.com/Oxford/232955/Diecast-Car-Dodge-Charger-gold-matt-black-1968Walthers shows that the black 68 is now in stock too and that my backordered black Charger is on the way too. www.walthers.com/dodge-charger-68-blk-wht

A little sad to see this group VERY much on life-support, but I guess I will eventually get around to joining one of the 1/87 groups on Facebook. You won't like it much on Facebook. I am on several groups there. No coherent threads -- a reply to a post you make might be 10-20 posts later and hard to find. Photos are nice. But site software is clunky and slow on my machine. Messenger service almost unusable. I do not like Facebook and was sorry it helped to destroy so many other forms of social media. have fun, Swamp Daddy

It has always been difficult to add pictures to a post here, especially for those of us who do not use third party hosting sites for storing photos. Photos are a vital part of any forum that focuses on scale models. If there were a way to make it possible to post photos directly to a post, it could give new life to this group.

You have both hit on what is wrong here. I am not liking the Facebook group I joined (forget which one), and yes, this group would be great with easier picture posting.

Just got Busch 45116, a Cadillac in white and yellow with cow horns for a hood ornament. I actually lived in Texas for a job for about a year and saw a few cars with horns on the hood and many pickup trucks so decorated. Thought it a bit of an overkill; but, the Texas natives liked it a lot. Will try for some photos soon (lost the camera charger temporarily and can't find it.) Have fun, Swamp Daddy

Two new items arrived. First is a 1957 Cadillac Eldorado in black with a silver roof from Oxford (87CE57001). It's a good looking model Next is a delightful 30's Ford converted into a hot rod, green with red and yellow flames. Excellent detail on this small model consistent with Ricko's high standards . Found this one on an eBay dealer at clearance price; so, it was also a bargain.

Splurged a bit this month and 4 items arrived today. First is a 2-axle UHIII trolleybus (non-operational) and a small 2-axle Sohn trailer. These were originally promotional models included in Wilkinson Shavers in Germany. Now some are being made by a museum that has the real model. Next is Faller 163002, a steerable front axle for buses for the Faller Car System. [eventually I hope to acquire more parts to make this trolleybus (and some others) operational]. But this is a long way off as I don't have much hobby money these days. 3rd is an Opel Manta in purple with a black hood (Euro Model) and last of all is a Busch 49004 Crown Victoria in a Checker Cab scheme. I need more taxis in the future.
Found the Charger for my camera so I hope to do all the pictures promised over the last year soon. I have become extremely lazy in this respect.

HI EVERYONE: Got the Walthers 4167 Garage Detail set (45 pieces). It's overkill for a gasoline station but not enough for a large bus garage (which I am building). Equipment as well as lots of junk tires to lay around a scene. Also a Viking 40' Allied container on chassis and one of the old Revell Chrysler's, a green Newport.

Also Presier 17186 (shop equipment for a large garage) and Preiser 17706 - machine shop equipment. Drill Press, Lathe, vise and a desk plus a dolly. Some stimulus money put to good work (LOL).

Hello everyone: Bought a lot of Brawa trolleybus overhead wire for my trolleybuses including 2 remote switches. And, an N scale trolleybus was in the lot I bought. The N scale models use the same overhead as the HO models so I will send that trolleybus on to someone I know in N scale and keep the overhead for my system.
When, or if, I ever get my system going it will be long and somewhat elaborate at the barn area.

Hello everyone: Things have been slack as most of my purchases have been model trains and lumber for benchwork for a new layout. However, I did get a Con-Cor/Herpa semi with 500 years in America graphics - Statue of Liberty theme. One of those "not real" but interesting set of graphics. Hope to get more buses soon as I got shot down on my last few eBay bus bids. Last of the new benchwork (in the first stage) going up this week. Hope to start putting buildings and streets in. Track soon (LOL).
