FYI, Rosenbauer America is going to begin manufacturing, if they already haven't begun, the newly designed Panther ARFF Unit in the United States in 2017. Sales are to begin in January 2017. Wiking has been producing this model for a year or so in 1/87 and 1/43 scale. I've read that Rosenbauer America is going to discontinue the "U.S.-designed" Panther ARFF units they've been manufacturing in the U.S. for the past several years. I'm glad to have a new 1/87 scale ARFF unit that airports in the U.S. will soon be running. I have a couple of RMM Oshkosh ARFF units (T-2500 and T-3000), but these are somewhat outdated.
I'm hoping Wiking will eventually come out with a generic yellow version of the 1/87 model of the new Panther with red emergency lights (as seen on U.S. fire apparatus, instead of blue, as used in Europe and Asia). And the HRET (High Reach Extendable Turret) would be a bonus, as seen on the 1/43 scale model.
