metall87,
Even though it's in German, it's an excellent report and I did see many items for the first time. A couple of questions for you, the Range Rover Evoque and Jaguar XF are 1:76 scale, correct? If so, what a shame! Another, is Toy State a new company in HO? I saw a mining dump truck, loader, and dozer with CAT graphics. Can you elaborate on this company?
Christian, I'm sorry but I highly doubt there is a new modern car coming from Herpa. The show is over and no announcement! Wouldn't this be THE event to highlight something new? Or am I wrong? The only new car I saw is the Mercedes C-Class, which of course looks great. I would be more than happy to be wrong if it's Herpa thinking out of the box!

Sadly you are right, the Range Rover Evoque and Jaguar XF are not 1:87.
Herpa has said that they bring out another modern car. So this will happen.

The Oxford models are 1/76 scale, that´s right... but they have wonderful models, for example the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Icecream van... The toy state CATs are not 1/87, they have different scales ("Fit the box"): 980K 1/94 scale, 320E 1/90 scale, 797F 1/97 scale, D7E 1/83 scale... I´m glad about the Bloodhound Super Sonic Car from Corgi - it´s a Little bit too small, like some of the Speed record cars from Lledo/Kelloggs from the 80s.

Thank you for the photo rich report! Sadly I can only read a few German words. Who is the manufacturer for the "50 year" Mustang fastback shown on page 8? best regards, Dave

It sure is a pity that the BMC Mobile comes in OO-scale as well. But this will be a very expensive year for me. Not just al the Artitec Daf and Chevrolet models, but also the new Makette models and (not in Germany) Sylvan Scale Models. And all new 87RPM models coming this year. (You'll be surpriced!!)

Cor,
Hi. A Kadett C-City would be better than nothing, but bear in mind this was shorter than the Kadett Coupe, which would prohibit my Kadett GT/E being made. Selfish I know, but this is the one I really want. I loved this car as a young boy and is in my top two all time classics, only second to the BMW 2000 Tii Touring. Yellow and black preferred, but yellow and white can also be done. I realise the Opel Kadett coupe has been produced before - I think it was euromodell that did it - but it was a pretty poor replica in my opinion and needs a top model company to produce it. I think it is one of those youngtimer classics that someone - Herpa preferred - could produce and sell well - it is German after all ! re. Dyane - thank you. Just cant get my head round why no one (particularly Brekina) has done it or mentioned it really. It must be on the cards soon.
Metall87 - great report and pics. First time I have seen the Fiesta from BUB. Looking forward to that especially in XR2i form. Thanks for hard work, Gary

Hallo, the Mustang Set is from BUB... Thank you. I remember seeing the 1:1 Mustang on display and sitting in one following the introduction. I can't believe it has been 50 years

UPDATE! Herpa announces the following modern car for our North American fans! The 2013 Cadillac CTS in 2 colors: silver and black. ETA, October 2014. Price, 19.95.
Of course, I wish this would happen; I'm having a little fun here.

That's completely unrealistic. Herpa only ever announces two colors for the first run. In other news, Marc has released his report on Neo: www.mo87.de/index.php?site=1&val=ber-ver&cont=080a (lots of great photos!) And Gary, you are spot on. What's underwhelming me the most about this year's toy fair is the suspicious and complete absence of new Herpa "youngtimers". The new modern automobile might very well be a Skoda.

Christian and all, Hi. Yes, it is a little surprising as Herpa seemed to be producing one or two youngtimers/old classics per year for at least 3 or 4 maybe more years now. And they were generally popular choices one would have thought, certainly considered the Opel Kadett B, Opel Manta B, Fiat Panda and the Volvo P1800 as successful in terms of choices. You cannot go far wrong with those models in the European market I would have thought. However, the only thing I think may be stopping them is financing it. Perhaps Marc or some of the people who went to the Show had some comments from Herpa about it. I don't know, but it was the most disappointing aspect. I always look forward to one or two new Herpa youngtimers/older classics each year. Thanks, Gary Oh by the way, the other new modern Herpa model may be a Seat. Think Herpa have had a relationship with them in the past. Cannot see Herpa doing an American model (sorry US fans) - unless they have tied in a special deal with Ford for the launch of the Mustang in Europe in 2015

Christian, That's very interesting. What makes you think that the new modern Herpa replica might be a Skoda? It would definitely be nice to see the latest Octavia or Superb in 1:87. Tony F.
