Hello there, I'm looking for an alternative to Tamiya spray paint ps32 Corsa grey for plastic model. As far as I know, ps32 Corsa grey can not be used on plastic with good results (only for inside paint of the RC transparent bodies). Can anybody suggest any light grey glossy colour (Tamiya spray) for plastic models close to www.etamiya.com/shop/images/tamiya_tools_paints/spray_ps/b_86032.jpgI know they offer Royal light grey and Navy grey colours but they are flat (for aircrafts) Thanks!

I have seen claims to the contrary, provided that you use a) a good primer to make the color stick and b) a clear coat because of the dullness of the PS paint. Might be worth a try.

I would agree, I've had my best results with the PS colors following Christian's instructions.

Thank you, Sounds encouraging! I have to apply decals, so clear coat comes in handy But then the question, does this Christian's instruction works with Tamiya clear coat only or with coats like Gunze Sangyo (Mr. Top Coat.) too? As far as I know Tamiya clear can easily damadge decals...

I'm afraid I can't really answer this question from experience. Maybe you can try the combination on a cheap model or even a piece of plastic first. Let us know how it goes.

Best is to use a waterbased clear coat like microscale. (flat satin or gloss) But when you want to spray it you'll need an airbrusch.

Sure, I'll try and will post the result here, Thanks! Best is to use a waterbased clear coat like microscale. (flat satin or gloss) But when you want to spray it you'll need an airbrusch. Thank you for the suggestion. I should convince myself to purchase the airbrush one day, I'm always afraid to see it gathering dust on a shelf then... Don't paint that much. I guess, with paintbrush I would just mix any grey colour I want without experimenting with the PS cans:) Life would be so much easier.
