It is only 42 days until the 2013 Nürnberg Toy Fair opens. I thought I would get the discussion started with this thread. I had a dream last night that I was reading the fair review on Mo87.de. Here is what I saw in my dream: - Brekina announces a late 1960's Chevrolet Corvair, a Triumph TR7, 2005 Toyota MR2 Spider and a DeTomaso Mangusta.
- Norev announces a 2013 Fiat Punto and the 500L. The big surprise was the announcement that they will produce a Bugatti Veyron model. They also showed a Peugeot iON EV.
- High Tech Modell announces a 1967 Gurney Eagle (winner of 1967 Belgian GP at Spa) and a Shelby Daytona Cobra with opening engine bay.
- Rietze, revisiting their Ford connection, showed samples of their new releases: 2013 Ford Focus 5 dr., 2013 Ford Fiesta 5 dr. 2013 Ford Fusion/Mondeo and the Ford C-Max.
- Schuco announced they will produce a Suburu BRZ, Porsche 918 Spider and Jaguar F Type convertible.
- Herpa showed several BMW and Porsche models commissioned by the manufacturers. They will also release a 1/87 Lear Jet with landing gear and opening access door. The Mini Coupe will be released
- Wiking showed Datsun 240Z and a 1953 Chevrolet Corvette.
- Spark/Redline showed the usual LeMans race cars from the 2012 season but got back in the street car game with 1/87 releases of models they have done in 1/43 scale: Alfa Romeo 8C coupe and spider, TVR Tamora, Lotus Europa S1, Lotus Evora, Lotus Eclat S1. New models never done before include the McLaren MP4-12C and 2013 Lotus Elise. The biggest surprise however was that Redline was back, showing the Ferrari FF, Ferrari 458 Italia in both coupe and spider as well as the Ferrari F12.
And then I woke up and realized it was just a dream.....or was it?

Alloy Forms already did a nicely proportioned 53 Corvette in 1/87 scale. I'm not a fan of Japanese cars, but a 240-Z would be an interesting addition to my collection. I don't really need any more European cars, but there is one that would be on my list. I would take a Corvair, but it would be near the bottom of my wish list of 60's American cars
My dream would be more like : Brekina: 68 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S fastback (or convertible), 59 Chevy Impala convertible, hardtop, and wagon, Dodge A-100 pickup, Dodge A-100 window van school bus Wiking: 66 Sunbeam Tiger, and re-release of the 64 Chevy Malibu SS NEO: 68 Charger RT (already announced!!), 68 Mercury Cougar GT-E, 63 Pontiac Grand Prix, 66 Ford Country Squire wagon, 65 Pontiac GTO convertible, 66 Plymouth Sport Fury, 68 Dodge Dart GTS Atlas: 63 Ford Galaxie sedans, wagons, hardtops and convertibles. Athearn: 34 Plymouth coupe and sedan, 34 Dodge pickup Jordan: re-release of the 50's Jeep wagon Malibu Intl/Model Power etc: 63 Impala SS, 69 Road Runner, 67 Cadillac El Dorado Road Ragers: Aussie 68 Valiant VE wagon and Ute, 64 Dodge Phoenix sedan, 60 Falcon Ute (Ranchero) Classic Metalworks: 57 Dodge stepside pickup, 57 Dodge 1/2 ton panel, 57 Dodge Sweptside pickup, 1963 Mercury Colony Park wagon, 1966 Chevy Impala sedan, 59 Dodge Custom Royal Lancer 2 door hardtop, 59 Buick convertible
Sadly, this is only a partial wish list and I just consider myself lucky that NEO has already announced the 68 Charger which would be at the top of my wish list.

Brekina:Dodge A-100 pickup I'm not sure, but I think I've read on Mo87's forum that they announce one for 2013.

It used to be where I was very excited about Toy Fair, but it is now very boring compared to just 5 years ago. Ricko, Masterpiece, Mainstreet Models, Malibu, and Model Power are all dead as far as I know. Good luck trying to get new tooling from Atlas every 2 years. I've heard from Athearn at Trainfest that no new tooling will be coming in their vehicle line for 2 years. Repaints will be coming, but that's it.
As for Herpa, what happened to the Audi Q5? I've only been able to find 1 in the past 6 months. Does anybody know if the Q5 has been discontinued or is it that rare? If you come up with tooling for a particular vehicle, make it available!
Busch hasn't been exciting for the past 10 years for me; they ruled the 90's, now they are exceptionally boring.
It's RPS to the rescue for me. If all of their vehicles on their website come to fruition plus a few new surprises in the next few years I'll be ok.
Trucks N' Stuff has been really fun also this year with many new trucks and trailers still coming. For the price, an excellent value and I would love to see major oil companies painted on their Heil tanker like Shell, Marathon, Citgo, and yes, BP Amoco.

Dear All:
If anyone - CMW? - does mold a Dodge Saint Regis/Plymouth Fury/Chrysler Newport,Dodge Diplomat,Plymouth Gran Fury 1975-1976 or even a 1974 Dodge Monaco (come on,it already exists in several scales;three manufacturers did it in 1/64!!) I would be a very happy puppy. As far as vans are concerned, bring the Corvair Van and pick up or likewise the early Econoline Van and Pick up.Otherwise,is very good that the Dodge A-100 van and pick up are being done.
I am also anxious for the 1968 Charger. The latter was promised by another manufacturer in the 1990's,but that never happened.I am also waiting for NEO's Chrysler Town and County Station Wagon. These were Da Wagons, period.
Otherwise, let's see what will be announced.Do not care about any Japanese vehicles, albeit I would like (Tomica did some of these) to see some of the British (Hilmann) or French (Renault) which had Japanese badges.

Hello:
I also not expecting much from this fair and would be extremely happy if some of the previously announced models made it to the stores( the Bentley's and the 2010 Challenger). I am still puzzled of why those Bentley's were canceled and more racing models are made while prices in the market implies high demand for the released Bentley's and not for the racing cars? Regards

And then I woke up and realized it was just a dream.....or was it? Reading the early reports of new releases from Nürnberg, I am disappointed but not really surprised. Given the world-wide economy, I did not expect a deluge of new product announcements. Nonetheless, I am pleased to see these new releases for 2013: - Welly Bentley Continental Supersports
- Welly Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4
- Wiking BMW 2002 (1966-1971)
- Wiking VW Beetle (2012) convertible
- Schuco Bugatti Veyron EB 16.4 (finally!)
- Schuco Agusta Westland AW 609 (VTOL tiltrotor aircraft)
Disappointing that there are no new road cars from Spark; High Tech and Neo's announcements are carryovers of previously announced models in 2012. Nothing really exciting from Busch. On a positive note, it looks like I can save some money on models this year.

Interesting news for my part are the US cars announced by Oxford: '41 Lincoln Continental convertible, '58 Edsel Corsair Coupe, and, less interesting '56 T-Bird and '49(?) Mercury Monarch. And there should be another series of 4 american models for the end of the year. Prototype of the first four models are shown at Nuremberg.

I hope these models become available in the US.

mstar, I did not see anything about NEO leaving 1/87 scale. Is this confirmed? The news about Minichamps entering 1/87 again is exciting. That McLaren looks fabulous. Do we know when they will be available?
