This morning, the long-awaited Expedition EL SUVs arrived in our Warwick warehouse from our factory in China. We anticipate that we will start shipping models to dealers this week.
The much anticipated, and regrettably long delayed crew cab pickup trucks are also undergoing the final production operations at this time, and we expect to have photos soon. The first shipments are due in early 2013.
The first E-Series vans are also in production, and will be available in the second quarter of next year. They will be followed by the cutaway variants, including the box truck and type III ambulances.
Several new models, not yet announced are also in development. I'm optimistic that 2013 will be much better than 2012.
Thank you to everyone for their patience and understanding.
Ron at RPS

Sounds good to me about the new releases. I hope at least one of the ambulances will be a generic white/orange/blue EMS so common at first.
Locally here they have gone away from that to a new grey & blue scheme which is nice too.
have fun, Swamp Daddy

The first three paragraphs are long awaited, excellent news! The 4th paragraph has me really intrigued! If it's modern fire apparatus, it's excellent news, or if it is a vehicle from another era, it's fine with me.
Let's see, the last decent modern American van was from Trident based on 1980's tooling. Your E-series vans are the most highly anticipated HO models for me personally because it's time for a change. Your vans won't be decent, they'll be the best in class. I hope that more railroads can be done for the cargo van.

Fantastic news! Looking foreward to all the new releases!
Those Trident and Busch ambulances, back in the day, were the neatest thing since sliced bread to happen in 1-87 scale for fire and EMS apparatus model collectors like myself. But the RPS ambulances, I'm 100% certain, will blow them away! If you're impressed with RPS' Expeditions and Ford pickups, imagine how nice the ambulances will be!
Swampdaddy, according to the RPS website, there will be several color variances of the ambulances to choose from.

The newest shipment is STILL tied up in Shanghai's customs, according to Glen at Burbanks House of Hobbies. I figured that since BHoH has the new RPS shipment on preorder that they were finally on their way. But this is not the case. I'm not sure what's going on or why the Chinese are playing games. But this is beyond ridiculous.

To say RPS has a problem is an understatement. The Chinese seem to be picking on them, why, I don't know. This should have been resolved at least a month ago, in my opinion. Do the Chinese expect that drugs are in those HO pickups, perhaps in the new caps? If there is a finer HO scale company in the industry right now, I would be hard pressed to tell you who it is, period. RPS does things right, and deserves better than this.
Even if this shipment finally gets released, who is to say it won't happen again with the E-vans? As JM82 said it's beyond ridiculous and extremely frustrating.

Ron,
Any good news coming from RPS? My layout could use some new pickups!

A shipment of crew cabs is due in port momentarily. As soon as more details are available, I will advise.
This will be the last production from our former factory in China. The last year was a bust--in fact, the last 2-years have been a personal disappointment. Future production will be provided by a couple of very esteemed OEM contractors in China, and we hope to get production moving soon and at a much better pace.

Ron,
Has the shipment reached the port yet, hopefully in excellent condition? Time flies, and it's hard to believe it has been almost a month already since your update. I have to admit it will be fun to see new product from RPS in the hobby shops again.

The shipment arrived about 2-weeks ago, and everything was unloaded last week. I wish that I could advise that the products will be in distribution before Christmas, but a variety of packaging problems will add to the ongoing delay. Loose blisters, missing SKU numbers, incorrect barcodes, and other problems will have to first be corrected. We are currently setting up a work area in our warehouse across town, and training a few workers from my other company to perform the work.
We should get everything sorted out and prepared next week, which is a short one due to the Thanksgiving Holiday, and start to effect the needed corrections the following week.
Once the models are repackaged, we will ship them, but I expect this will take us several weeks to rectify the problems.
