I have recently received some laser cut details from an outfit called VectorCut (vectorcut.com) on .015" card stock. This is remarkably rugged material and stayed stiff even when acrylic paint was applied. I got several cards with gears, nut and bolt heads, tools and a junk yard assortment. Below are just a sampling of what can be done with these pieces. The door was covered in Bare Metal foil and then torn to reveal the inner workings of the card stock door. The radiator and hood side were simply weathered. The website has a lot of other details worth investigating for super detailing. The thickness of the material allows for more detail that is superior even to photo etching in my opinion. Custom work is accepted in Photoshop or Corel formats. Here's a photo of the junk assortment and gasket/fan belt cards as they comes from the manufacturer.
