The bus fleet grows with the arrival of a Herpa "Setra 3-axle bus" logo-ed for Express Tours of san Francisco. If anyone in the bay area can confirm this to be a real company let me know.
Photo soon.

PS-I'm betting Nick is getting jealous.

Dear All:
For a while this gentleman on eBay been selling these New York MTA Articulated Transit buses. One is made on 1/50 scale, and there is a small, circa 1/90 scale avaliable.I got the small version, and it arrived yesterday. It was an enormous surprise to discover that Realtoy International Ltd was the manufacturer of this item. The markings on the vehicle are well done, but I am difficulty to assess what kind of vehicle this is.According to the MTA New York Fleet roster, the articulated buses are from New Flyer;recently (and shown on the box of the vehicle I got) they also acquired NovaBus Articulated Buses.Up to now,I thought that their articulated vehicles were made by Orion, but that is not the case.Based on the photos from the dealer who sold this unit, this miniature,at the front end, looks as the final generation of Orions.I will not open this box because is sealed,so I will get another to see what really it is.On its box, there are photos of non-articulated New Flyer buses as well.

Thanks for the link. I Looked at that NYC articulated bus; scale listed as 1/109 which makes it ridiculously small for HO and monsterly big in N-scale so none for me though it looks good. Swamp Daddy

Well, not really even good for TT gauge which is 1/10th inch per foot or 1/120th real size. Remember the bus in question is 1/109th real size.
1/8th inch per foot (a common scale for architectural models) is 1/96th real size.
Western Europe and USA N-scale is 1/160th real size and Japanese N-Scale 1/150th real size.
And while a nice looking model that bus really fits nothing as far as railroad scales go. But, I might collect it if I had the money, I just wouldn't put it with any scale RR items.
have fun, Harry

Latest addition to the bus fleet is a Mack-Renault model by Praline of a Gray Line tour bus. I have no idea when Gray Line used these or if the real ones are still active: s258.photobucket.com/albums/hh280/swampdaddy_01/ go here and look at the buses album for photo of the grey line bus. have fun you bus collectors, Swamp Daddy

I have no idea when Gray Line used these or if the real ones are still active: have fun you bus collectors, Swamp Daddy Dear Harry: I would guess that I was thinking of British TT Gauge, whose ratio is 1/101 scale (and that is what up to now I was associating to TT Gauge). Be as it may, since I chase on Transit Buses (and their promos) I do get their HO version if avaliable or any other scale (or material;have cardboard models of the GMC/MCI Classic with Santa Monica livery,National/Eldorado minibus in DASH livery, and NABI BR60 Articulated Bus in Orange Line livery.Except for the NABI,the other carboard miniatures are not avaliable in any other form) - I am about to get the 1/50 scale version of that New York MTA bus.Goes without saying that I have all the Road Champs Flexble Transit Buses, except for the LACMTA and SEPTA version which are very difficult to come by and boy,do they attract bids! By the way, wonderful buses there.Oh,did you get the Las Vegas Alexander Double Decker Unit which also has the bycicle rack detail? That is a killer model!! Love that one!! Nick K

Picked up two Greyhound Scenicruisers this afternoon at Burbank H of H. I believe you bus lovers will like this one, from Mini Metals. They have given a lot of attention to details: lettering is sharp; upper windows are tinted, as on the prototype. I remember riding these buses, as a kid, and they were very comfortable and roomy. The Air Ride Suspension made for a smooth ride. If I remember correctly, Greyhound had problems with the air suspension.

Nick K: You can get the Road Champs SEPTA bus from the SEPTA gift shop by mail. They had them last year when I got one. They are on-line - search for them. And, I'm looking forward to getting a couple of the new Sceni-Cruisers at my hobby shop; they are on order. have fun, Swamp Daddy

Yes ! I just got my CMW GMC Scenicruiser bus. What a nice model this is. I rode plenty of these things in my younger days including one 24 hour trip to Florida (before the days of interstate highways) stopping at only medium or big cities.
The ride was good; the AC was unable to cope with the heat and number of passengers.
However, back to the model - it is great. The paint is crisp and not blurred. Detailing is adequate. Windshield wipers are applied separately. It has an interior too. I have not yet taken it out of the blister pack to see about putting some people in there but I may do that one day.
All bus collectors need this model; and, most model railroads need at least one too. The first run is sold out but many hobby shops and eBay dealers probably still have them.

Probably a lot of ways to address this problem. How about first a letter to CMW to see if they will send a replacement lense. 1) a very short piece of fiber optic cable of the right diameter 2) one of the MV (model RR) lenses meant for diesel locomotive ditch lights 3) Testors "window glaze" material (use it like glue) and, probably a dozen more you can think of. Will do some more thinking on this myself Swamp Daddy
