Can anyone tell me more about this model? I bought it about ten years ago at Goodwood. The dealer said it was made by a dentist using tooth filling compound. Thanks Rob

That appears to be a very rare Roadace Replicas model. Many interesting cars in that series. I don't know if they are still being made.

Thank you very much for the information.
The wooden base on the Aston is too dark to make out the writing.

I hope you are still on this forum 'Roadace 123' as i'd be fascinated to hear more about this exquisite models. i have a BRM 1962 model with Graham Hill at the wheel, I'm told these were 'one offs' would this be correct?

Graham,
welcome to the forum. Unfortunately, Jonathan didn't follow up on his offer, so the Roadace Replicas story remains in the dark. From what I understand the models were "one offs" in the sense that each one was painted individually by hand. I do think that Ken Dolton usually made several copies of any particular car model.

that is sad as i'd love to know more about them, I remember my dad having at least two of these little replica's both BRM's one was quite badly damaged not sure how, but the other labeled as '1962 BRM V8' is unique to me as, although I've scoured the net I cannot find another Roadace replica with a driver figure represented...

Hi Christian, many thanks for digging the article up, apologies for my incredibly late reply taking care of my Dad's estate proved very involving and hugely time consuming and my investigation into Roadace kinda hit the back burner. the Article suggests that Ken is still with us, so it would be interesting if I could get to have a chat with him about his models. many thanks once again
