Hi guys, (Sorry if this is in the wrong spot, I didn't see a place for this sort of thing) My name is Matt and model trains, trucks and whatever catches my fancy in 1/87th scale. My main focus is on Post-Soviet Russia. To that end I have been playing with some of the Model Power diecast Sprinter vans. Here are a couple of pictures: I also do weathering work for my father's model railroad that he is working on. Here is a Woodland Scenics road grader: Thanks for having me around. Matt

I guess I'll have to move these over to the what you've finished section. But in the meantime here are a couple of shots. First is another view of the Sprinter that I cut out into a passenger version. The other is a Kibri kit of the Mercedes MB Trac tractor. Not quite visible is the railroad coupler I put on the rear to make it a "rubber tired switcher". It was one of my first weathering jobs and my first 1/87th vehicle. I had done a couple of rail cars before. Matt

Sprinter that I cut out into a passenger version Very smooth transformation, I hadn't even noticed that it was modified that way. The MB Trac is pretty impressive for a first model! (Moved to All done)

Thanks for the comments. Here is a Langley white metal kit. The diorama is contained in a Malibu truck display box. Matt

Matt, Welcome and thanks for posting We like pictures. You have a lot of great textures on the horse and cart diorama. I especially like the horse.

My dad bought a big box of misc. model rr stuff and this Athearn Station Wagon kit was in there. Being too new for his era he asked if I wanted it. Sure! With the below creation in mind I took the kit home with me. A few hours later and this is where I'm at. These kits have absolutely no interior. but I'm thinking of making a dash, drivers seat and it should be tubbed and tubed. I'm posting it here. Because for the time being it's "finished", in that I'm happy with the way it is now. But I still might improve it. You might have guessed the wheels aren't stock The front wheels are from a Malibu VW Bus. The rear from a Malibu C10 pickup. Matt

Love the black wash in the grille. The Athearn Plymouth is far more detailed than I realized. Neat little rat rod.

Superba,
Thanks! The wash was done with a commercial alcohol based one that I have a set of like "mud" "oxide red" "grimy black"etc. The "chrome" color to the grill and front end was Athearn stock. I only painted the body. The outside isn't to shabby with door handles molded etc.
