Quite a lot. There is a lot of "insider" information in the member area where we share in keeping an eye out for rare pieces or help each other with problems in the workbench section. It doesn't cost anything to be a member. It no longer requires seven postings, just signing in. You will never know what you have been missing until you make the effort and join us. ;D
This is by far the best interactive 1/87th vehicle collecting and modeling group that I have found, bar none.
This website lists as Europe, but has members from all over the world watching the Asian, American and Europian happenings in the world of 1/87th. It is more international than anything else.

Dear Sirs:
Hm. With the off-topic section, there is some info on other scales as well. Hence, this is becoming a very well informed, assorted site.

Well guys after visiting this board for a long time I have finally broken down and registered. The last straw was this message about what non-members are missing. The second last straw was that the 87yahoo group board has essentially reduced to a forum on American on-highway trucks only. Okay, now to find 6 other things ro reply to! Wayne Calder Houston, Texas

Yes, a very warm welcome to our message board Wayne. Posting seven posts should not pose a problem for anyone. There are so many threads where one can put his 2 cents in that the big problem is where to start. ;D You can even start a new thread if there is something you wish to talk about that hasn't been covered before.

I just joined this group. I have a bunch of HO sized cars and trucks as part of my 1500 car collection. I chased down Greg's Garage from Google, and ended up here. I really like what he has available, and I saw some other makers with cars I want. Maybe I missed something, but I couldn't find any way to contact this maker or others on the manufacturer lists. Can someone help me?

50scars, I buy from a variety of vendors on the web but I think the one with the most comprehensive list of HO scale vehicles in the U.S. has to be Walthers. www.walthers.com/Go to the manufacturers directory and choose the ones you have seen interesting to you. There are many obscure cottage manufacturers out the in this scale that have wonderful stuff (several here on this board) Give ebay a try as well. I hear that many of us are finding a little gem now and then. So keep your eyes and ears open and please ask questions as this is probably the most informed group on the subject of 1/87 scale vehicles there is, in my opinion. Welcome and enjoy. Chester

Welcome to the board 50scars. In answer to your question about Greg's Garage, there is a thread in this same section called Greg's Garage that lists two distributors that carry Greg's Garage vehicles.

Here are two website/distributors that carry Greg's Garage and have them in stock. www.meguntic.com/truckstopmodels.com/Most cottage industries are a small, one man operation that do not have the resources or time for a website or dealing with the public in general. What other cottage industries are you interested in?

Dear 50cars:
As Lee stated,is usefu to list which manufacturers - besides Greg's Garage - you may be interested at. People here can point to the dealers who carry these or other details how to get them.

Sorry, but could it not be another thread? I mean, this question of "How do I contact a cottage manufacturer?" is a very good topic, which will interest many of us, but frankly, I would never have thought to read about it here. About Greg's Garage, the two websites Lee has mentionned are I think the easiest way. I've bought all my Greg's Garage models through them.

I have posted a few site addresses of cottage manufacturers (or should I say smaller resin manufacturers) on the thread "Cottage manufacturers in HO". I hope that some of the members will add to my small list so new members have a direct link to these folks.

It no longer requires seven postings to look or post anywhere on the message board. All that is required to be a member is sign in. So what is everyone waiting for?
