Since Chester was showing off his Roco Zis-5, and I finally a better picture of it, here is mine: Before I knew the history of Ford and this truck, I converted mine into a 1929 Dodge Brothers by adding the side portal windows. I wanted an ATHS show truck which explains the glossy finish. Enjoy, Richard O.

Good to finally see a shiny Zis... (just kidding, Chester!)
Richard, I also like your very clever title for this thread. ;D

Hey, they all start out shiney and clean! And your couldn't look better Richard. The truck is a very close replication of the Dodge Bros. '29 truck. The 5 window cab makes it even closer. Nice work.

Finished a couple of small projects which had stalled for several months waiting for the last details. Malibu 1969 Camaro SS hardtop. The most obvious addition is the modified Tyco hardtop, which was covered in masking tape for a vinyl roof appearance. Lowered the stance, added Malibu late model Firebird wheels to give it the modern street machine look. Trident Chevrolet G-series panel van modified into a Conversion Van. I cut out the side windows, added running boards, roof rack and rear ladder. Wheels are from a Busch Caprice, tries and spare are Roco. Rear 'glass' is exposed 35mm film. Finished in Duplicolor Automotive spray. Richard O.

Wow, nice job on the Van, love the ladder and roof racks. And that conversion to a hardtop with the Tyco piece top is very tempting. Nice work. By the way, ever look closely at the wheels on the Tyco piece? Pretty nice actually but just not the right size for the Camaro.

Here is one of my older builds from the early/mid 1990s. I call it my Montana Rancher. The Roco Dodge (M880) pickups were plentiful and were a great model to modify/detail. I added Roco 4x4 parts pack wheels/tires, front-mounted Reitze spare tire, wooden bed rails and Hank the cow dog. The single horse trailer is patterned off an old photo. I used Tyco/IHC sedan (40-Ford?) rear fenders and Eko wheels, the rest is scratchbuilt. Richard O. Not bad for a 15-year-old at the time.

The trailer in particular blows my mind. Really impressive work from your previous self.

Amazing Richard. "Not bad" isn't the way I would describe this at all. The weathering is just right and the hack is great. I'll miss that Roco Dodge and you picked a perfect configuration for it.

Very nice work and attention to details. I am very impressed with your work. I have just one comment; tie up the dog, please. I lived in Virginia for 10 years and the number of dogs on the expressway was not a pretty sight.

Richard, Your Dodge pickup is a very nice model with lots of personality. I love the weathering of the bed and the details, and most of all the trailer. It is even more impressive that you built it at a young age.
Do you recall where the dog came from?

Sorry I hadn't responded earlier Dave, but the dog came from my fathers 'little people' waiting room (junk box/spares), other than that, I have no clue.

Here are some trucks I cleared off the workbench. I stalled several weeks during the finishing steps, even though they only required a little detail to complete them. 2006 Peterbilt 387, this time in GM Red metallic. Built using the Ertl cab; Malibu chassis, interior, mirrors and exhaust; and High Speed/Boley wheels/tires. Repainted and detailed Malibu Peterbilt 379 with a Trucks 'n Stuff grille. Richard O.

Here's a trailer to go with the trucks above. This is the Trucks 'n Stuff 48' flat, shortened to 40' (the other 8' went to another project), Lonestar bulkhead and Lee Town/Alloy Forms wheels and tires. Duplicolor paint, detailing and weathering with Floquil and chalks. Richard O.

Richard that Pete 387 is stunning and the detailing is perfect. That trailer will look really good with it. Nice colors on the 379 too.
