Great models, great photos. The photos have the feel of dawn breaking. The only things missing are a newspaper landing on the porch, occasional dogs barking, and a for sale sign out in front..........so I can move in Thankyou for showing these.

Funny, first thing I thought about was whether the palm tree wood split and burned well. Gotta get out of that Northeast attitude. Homey little neighborhood there Lee. Wouldn't mind having those three in the driveway.

Lee, Sweet dioramas there! Really nice work. Are those feathers you used on the palm trees? Joe

Things missing? House numbers, garden hose, mail box, milk bottles, children's toys, screen doors, window screens, trash cans, power lines, telephone lines, electric meters, gas meter, etc......... The list is endless as what could be added to make the scene look even more real.
Back when I had a hobby shop Jerry put a model of one of his houses on display. He didn't want to sell it but everyone who came in asked about the price. So I put a $2,000 price tag on it. Jerry was in shock and said he probably would sell for that amount. It never sold.
The prices on real property out here are just as bad. Either one of those homes would easily sell for over $600,000 on today's market.
Palm tree wood is not much good for anything including the fireplace. But the palm fronds burn like a torch. Yes, the fronds are made from feathers. The trees were part of the SMCC line that we bought from someone else.
The two hotrods are Jordan. The other two vehicles are Cutter's

Being as I named this thread Jerry's Corner, I thought I would show you a picture of a Built by Jerry collection in a corner ;D A couple of my all time favorite photographs of Jerry's work: A model of the Richfield Tower that was in Los Angeles. A model of a automobile dealership that also was in Los Angeles. Many thanks to Eric for the photo enhancement. A model of the Angels Flight that was in Los Angeles A model that is not finished yet of the Brown Derby. Also a Los Angeles building. The real buildings of all four of the above models have been torn down to "make room for improvement". This last, which is not completed, is of the Los Angeles Union Passenger Station.

The only things missing are a newspaper landing on the porch, occasional dogs barking, and a for sale sign out in front..........so I can move in Thankyou for showing these. All truly impressive models !!!! And they are doubly impressive in being models of actual buildings from old Los Angeles. For my part the neighborhood scenes are so visually realistic that my minds started filling in for the other senses: the sounds and scents of early morning. For Chester that apparently includes a good fire in the fireplace. Cheers, Dave

Fantastic work. Actually Dave it was the price of heating oil next season that I had in mind.

Hah, I have lots of interesting memories from the LA Union Pacific Station. There is a Japanese grocery store nearby where I used to go to hunt for Furuta Nissans...

Just back after a few days in Brittany, so I've just been able to see this thread: Great models! But not a surprise, knowing Jerry.
And I like your choice of buildings. It's the Los Angeles of movies I like (Double Indemnity, The big sleep, Mildred Pierce, and so many other…). Or the Los Angeles so perfectly described in Chandler's novels. Too bad it disappears. But it so great to see models like this.

Happy Birthday, Lee!
Are you sure the cake isn't a resin-cast? --- Just envious!
