The Brockway is as all your models an piece of art. I love the weathering. I got one question. What do you use to make the quater fenders? I'm still searching such ribbed material to make fenders.

Thank you Thomas, the quarter fenders are corrugated roofing in 1/87 scale used by model railroaders for structures. It is aluminum. I might suggest looking at some model RR supply places as I think the folks I got it from are out of business. If I come across any I'll let you know.

Thanks for that information. I will look out for some corrugated roofing.

This is the Don Mills resin kit of the Mack LTL which was made with a lot of aluminum parts. I swapped out the Alcoa rims for steel and moved the air cleaner to the curb side to make this into the steel version of the same truck that Mack made, the LTH.

A brief departure for me in this older Athearn WF cabover. Done in automotive lacquers with many additions.

Chester, Wonderful weathering as always on the Mack. Years of hard work show.
The Athearn unit is certainly transformed in its appearance with more modern paint and accesories. The headlights look really great. How did you do them?

Thanks Dave. I shaved the round parts off of the headlights that come with it, drilled small holes to center a clear lens made from 80 lb. clear shark leader (you know, for fishing) paint silver and glue lenses on with wh wood glue. Hope they stay put. This is an Imex '48 Ford with a scratch built wrecker unit and bed. New grille and headlights with a rear window cut out of the Imex piece. Wheels are from Miniaturmodelle.

Chester, Nice transformation of the IMEX Ford. I always enjoy your wreckers!
Shark leader is (I imagine) going to be scarce where I live 1500 miles from the ocean. But, I have a great opportunity coming up with a spring break trip to Florida. I am assuming that the 80lb leader is the right diameter for the headlights and that you cut thin sausage slices to make the lenses.
thanks, Dave

Thanks Dave, I'm sure you'll be able to find some clear leader of a good size somewhere in Fla. I hope you don't have to buy the whole roll though, it's pricey stuff. And yes, I cut thin slices off after heating them (holding it close to a flame) a little to get a convex shape to the end. BTW, the lenses in the Imex Ford are done the same way.

A little Sylvan piece in the mid 40's Chevy, I placed the stake bed from the Jordan Model TT truck on the back. Added the hoops and torn canvas cover.
