That tarp really looks great. Did you just use a frame or is it solid under it? Everytime I try paper and glue, the paper falls apart.

The model was equipped with a plastic cover looking like a hardtop, I have used this original 'tarp' as a basis for the paper to get a more convincing 'textile' look. After the paper had dried I painted it bronze green and weathered the tarp with light grey and white to give it a used look.

I finally managed to get some things of the workbench and decided to bug you all with some pictures of the models that are now done ;D First up is a Herpa bases Mercedes-Benz Atego with Roskopf body, The second one is a Roco Renault with scratchbuilt body I've shown earlier in the workbench thread. I've finally added the doorhinges (decals)... Third in this series... a Wiking Volvo N12 cab on a Preiser chassis Fourth.. AMW Mitsubishi Canter with Rietze body and Busch Opel Number five, the Roco Deuce-and-a-half. No real changes, just painted/weatheried and added crates and drums. And finally, something for the car guys.. a souped up Wiking Malibu As always, comments are most welcome !

A couple of my favorites Eric. Nice work, I especially like the N12 Volvo trash truck. The peace sign on the dumpster is classic.

Eric, I especially like the refuse hauler and the Malibu. What did you use for the chrome plating of grille and bumpers on the Malibu? It looks outstanding.

Dave,
the chrome on the bumpers and grille of the Malibu is Bare-Metal foil, although it is not easy to apply (patience is the key ;D ) I think it looks better then paint. After 'chroming' the grille has been washed with india ink, the headlights were done with a silver marker.

I have to try harder to get such results. Cor

Oi Eric,
Why made you it an Intertrans trailer? It's a Belgium firm with a dependance in Roosendaal. But your Daf has a Dutch licenceplates on it. Hard to believe! But maybe they leared there lessons! I know these guys in Holland from a few years ago ...

Cor, I happened to have the Intertrans decals lying around, luckily it is an imaginary world I'm building ;D Some more that have left the workbench: This is the old Heljan/ConCor/Preiser Ford kit. I filed out all openings in the rims, added brakes, reworked the headlights with crystals and added windows from clear plastic sheet. This is Herpa's ancient (1978 ?) Volkswagen LT, repainted and decaled witg Busch Iveco rims/tires Herpa Mercedes LN 814 with Roco lift-gate. Painted and detailed, the strip of metal on the lift-gate is photo-etched metal from Gerd Gehrmann. Comments welcomed as always !

Eric,
Good job! Chester used Jordan wheel instead. Look much better I think. Might be something for the Ford. By the way what kind of Ford is this actually? I received such the same last week as well as another Heljan Ford....
Chester. This VW cabin I use to build the 1995 Kenworth K300! Well done, that "Snel"delivery van. Great detailed lift gate!

The Jordan wheels can be bought separately. (I probably even have a set from the Mack Bulldog if you want) That Ford is the Model TT panel truck I believe. And Eric you did a nice job with it, the Heljan piece isn't the best starting point. Cor, I can see the resemblance now with the VW and the Kenworth.
