These had the most flash I have ever seen on a model, and worse there was a large gap of missing "sheet metal" along the leading edge of the hood. Have you filled this or were you fortunate to find old stock? I found an old stock item, however, the hood edge does have damage from the tearing-off the molding sprue gate. Not too bad, but I need to do some putty work there and on the driver's A-pillar, where a chunk is missing. Richard O.

followed by the Tamiya spray. Looks like I have used the same for my Fiat 850. The EKO Dart is really not a bad base model. Looking forward to your finished version!

Tobias showed off his beaten Dodge Powerwagon earlier this week which was quite a coincidence as I was starting this one. I purchased it at a swapmeet for a couple of bucks as it was missing the spare tire and one headlight. I wanted the wheels/tires for another project and thought I might as well finish junking it up. I too cut open the door and hood, but glued them in their opened positions. I was also planning a rotten wood bed floor falling to the ground and a well used interior. Richard O.

Sweet, cutting those doors and hood must be quite an operation. Yours looks great richard.

Nice model and a really nice photo as well. Very well-composed, I found myself looking at it for a very long time.

The doors were cut open using the backside of a new #11 Xacto (or equivalent) blade, scribing the plastic out of the panel seams. The hood was cut out using the Xacto and a jewelers' saw to cut, chop and carve 1/2 of the hood to create the folded effect. Thanks for the compliments, I hope to stick this on a small diorama. Here is the latest project, which is about 95% complete. This is one of the latest in a string of customized Jeeps, but this one won't stay in my collection. I obviously removed the hardtop, added an 8-point roll cage from brass-wire, new bumpers and rock-rails (rocker guards). Little items include the trail lights, winch with cable, tow hooks and a CB radio hanging from the roll cage console. I re-mounted the axles so the Jeep can show-off its flex! Richard O.

Very nice Richard. Will this be getting a mud bath?

Very nice Richard. Will this be getting a mud bath? I like the cleanly built trail rigs. I played on the dirt and rocks more than the mud (too much work involved with cleaning off mud...). Besides, this is for another person. I'm learing ideas on this one before building my own. Richard.

Here are a few more projects on the bench: 1978 Ford mini-pumper (Life Like Ford and Trident body): 1995 Chevy S-10 pickup (modified Busch Blazer): 1996 Ford extended cab shortbed (modified Trident) Enjoy, Richard O. I'm going to try my hand a resin casting the modified pickups.

Richard, I really do hope your resin castings come out good because I am very interested in getting some of them. Marvelous conversions, which should all have been available a long long time ago.

Richard, Sweet Landcruiser! Nice brass work on all the rock guards. Can't wait to see it finished.

Wish me luck guys. I currently have two blocks of rubber (somewhere in the middle of liquid and solid form) sitting on the outside workbench. Hopefully by the morning I'll be able to determine if my first attempt at mold-making will be a success! They hold the cab and bed/chassis of the Chevy S-10 pickup from above. Richard O.
