Ricko's Dodge Charger evolving into a Sub Lime Daytona fresh out of the paint booth (garage): A pain to dissasemble (broke the drivers' windshield pilar). Added the sun roof, painted Tamiya's Light Green. Still have to build a spoiler and add the stripes. tinyurl.com/2acdgnThe picture above are Malibu/ High Speed Dodge Viper wheels w/larger tires, which are similar to the '06 version. Here it is with the Herpa wheels: tinyurl.com/23h967However, SubLime is only available on the '07 model after reaserching for the past few weeks, the '07 Daytona and SuperBee have the new chrome wheels (below), while the SRT and all '06 models have the 'Herpa' styled wheels. Please, any help finding a tire/wheel combination: Enjoy and Thanks for Looking, Richard O.

Richard, Saw your picture before it disappeared. Looks good. But it's not familliar to me all that modern American stuff. American trucks even less. You can show me a Mack and tell me it's a Peterbuilt! They looks all the same to me.
Is the model going to be as the real one?
You're gonna make it!
Cor.

Hi Richard, I really like what's becoming of your Charger! With the black stripes and some further detailling this will be an eyecatcher first-class! About the wheels: how about using the ones from Herpa's latest BMW 5-Series, they look a lot like what you're after: www.herpa.de/pics/023191.jpgGood luck finishing this great model, I'm looking forward to seeing a picture of it when it's done!

Finally an update on the Ricko Charger Daytona in SubLime. I got my custom decals from a 1/24-25th scale modeller. Wheels are from the Malibu Int. BMW 5 series and will get Bare Metal Foil. I am very pleased with the decal lettering, but unfortunately the drivers A-pillar broke again. As I mentioned in another message thread, I also have decals for the Super Bee version.

Your model is looking a lot like the prototype. Color and decals look great! I think it rides too high in the photos, but is that just from posing the model without fully assembly? I'm sure that A-pillar fracture will become invisible once glued and touched with paint.

Wow, gorgeous paint job Richard. Can't wait to see this detailed and lowered. Consider Alclad 2 on the wheels??

Did you paint over the original color or did you remove that first?

To answer a few questions: I stripped the original paint (as much as I could) but I can't recall if I used DOT3 brake fluid or Castrol Super Clean. There were some very stubborn areas and the paint stained some areas. I used Duplicolor Automotive spray for primer, followed by the Tamiya spray. Currently I need to rework the wheels/axles to fit the Ricko base/interior structure, that is what the model looks a bit high in the mock-up photos. I'd try Alcad, but didn't have the best of luck with it yet. The wheels are solid cast so I'l have to do some touch up either way.. I may just try some 'Chrome' paint to tone it down osme.

Got photos of one of the current projects on my desk. Sylvain posted his beautifully completed Eko Dodge Dart. That week I found one in my local shop and was inspired to try my hand at it. I cleaned out the window flash, removed some molding lines and trimmed the wheelwells. The lack of interior and poor wheels were augmented with a Malibu Reel Rides Plymouth GTX. It was a perfect fit with little modification. Now the hardest part will be choosing a color. Richard O.

Your model is looking far better than the original Eko. I too was inspired by Sylvain's work and ordered two Darts from Walthers. These had the most flash I have ever seen on a model, and worse there was a large gap of missing "sheet metal" along the leading edge of the hood. Have you filled this or were you fortunate to find old stock?
